本课是外研社新标准小学英语（一年级起点）四年级上册第一模块第一单元，课型为新授。本课通过Amy阅读好朋友的来信，复习巩固三年级教材分析

下册初步接触的两个表示过去时态的单词was和were，为随后继续学习一般过去时态打下基础，同时复习一般现在时态和正在进行时态。本课的语用功能是介绍自己的新朋友。通过本课的学习，学生可以了解书信的格式，并且能够用英语介绍自己朋友的外貌和性格特征。

本课的教学对象是四年级的学生，他们已经有了一定的英语基础，已经接触过本课出现的语法项目。他们在二年级学习了用正在进行时态描述学情分析

正在发生的动作；在三年级学习了一般现在时态，以及表示过去时态的be动词was和were的简单使用。通过今天的学习，学生要巩固已学内容，同时感知书信格式，并学会用英语介绍自己的一个朋友。
