Unit 10 Where were you yesterday? Part B & C

一、教学目标

(一)语言目标

1、词汇:能听懂、会说、认读B部分词汇或短语last week, yesterday, today, tomorrow, at work, at home, in bed, in hospital.

2、句型:能用“Where were you yesteday”询问他人过去某时间的去处,并对该询问做出回应。

(二)应用目标

能谈论他人过去某时间的去处。

二、教学重、难点

1、重点:

(1) 学习8个单词或短语(last week, yesterday, today, tomorrow, at work, at home, in bed, in hospital);

(2) 初步感知和理解一般过去时的用法:Where were you yesterday? I was at home等;

初步感知和理解一般过去时的用法。

三、教学准备

1、教具:有关星期及时间的单词卡片,多媒体课件。

2、学具:课堂练习调查表

四、教学过程

Step1 Warm up

1.Greetings

T: Hi, Class. Nice to see you again. I miss you very much.

Ss: So do I.

2. Act and sing a song Sunday, Monday, …(播放视频)

T: Thank you. I want to listen to your beautiful singing. Do you want to show? Ok, stand up, please. Wonderful! Sit down, please.

(设计意图:网络儿歌复习旧知,暗示学生进入英语学习状态。)

Step 2 Presentation and drill

1.PPT shows a calendar of July.

(1) T: I want to ask your some questions. First one, what day is it today? 鼠标指向日历中的今天,事先板书时间轴。

S1: It is Thursday.

教师出示词卡导读新词T o d ay,板贴词卡Today Thu.指向板书问Which verb?,引导学生选词is补全句子。

(2) T: Where are you today? Are you at home, Jane?

S2:No, I’m at school/in the classroom.

(3) T(出示词卡Fri):What day is after Thu.?

Ss: It’s Friday.

T: Friday is the day after today. We call it tomorrow.

(出示词卡导读) 板贴 T o m or r ow Fri. 补全will be

(4) T(出示词卡Wed):What day is before Thu.?

Ss: It’s Wed.

T: Yes. Wednesday is the day before today. It’s called yesterday. 板贴Y e st er d ay Wednesday. 问学生What’s missing? 补全was T: Where were you yesterday? 板书课题,问学生Which verb? 补全were. 教师运用拼音法区分where和were的读音。

帮助学生回答:I was at home.

(设计意图:由旧知引出新知学习,启发询问培养学生思考意识。)

2. T: Why should we use was or were? Because yesterday is the past. Let’s know more about the past forms of BE. ( 播放视频)

(设计意图:网络资源辅助学生感知理解BE动词过去式)

3. T: Got it?Ok, quiz time now. Quiz One: Match the words to the sentences. Quiz Two: Fill in the blanks . Then answer the questions.

PPT shows pictures and sentences

(1).Where ____ the woman yesterday? She was at work.

(2). Where ______ they yesterday? They were in bed.

(3). Where _____ the boy yesterday? He was in hospital.

(设计意图:进行单词词义理解和be动词过去式测验,当堂检测学生对知识的掌握和理解程度,突破重难点。)

Step3 Practice

1.Task:单词替换Word Substitution及问答活动

T: Excellent! You’re quick learners. A task for you. Try to replace the word yesterday into other past time words or phrases. For example, Where were you last month, John? Were you in Changsha?

S1: No. I was in Xian.

T: Where was John last month?

Ss: He was in Xian.

S2:Where were you last Friday evening, Miss Ou?

(设计意图:通过单词替换Word Substitution及问答活动, 使学生初步掌握一般过去式句子结构的变化, 扩大语言输出量。)

2. T: I was at home last Friday evening. I watched the program Where are we going, Dad? Did you watch it? Do you love the children?

3. 创设情景一:

T: ast Friday, two lovely children came to Changsha. Can you guess who they are?

T: Yes, they are Joe and Grace. They were in Changsha last week. Yesterday they went to somewhere, maybe they were at /in …

(设计意图:结合娱乐节目,创设真实情境,拓展学习有关长沙名胜的英文表达,在新知中复现旧知。)

4. T: Let’s take out your work sheets, This is Yesterday’s Schedule of Joe and Grace. First, you guess and finish Schedule One, Then, you ask your partner and finish Schedule Two. Five minutes for you.

(设计意图:合理设置学习任务,让学生进行有意义的句型操练,渗透湖湘文化)。

5.T: Boys and girls, thanks for your good job today. Let’s relax and enjoy a story . (优酷视频)

(设计意图:欣赏网络动画故事帮助学生理解运用所学知识。)

6.T: There is a saying. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is mystery. But today is a gift. That is why it’s called‘P resent’.

(设计意图:呈现孩子们喜欢的英文动画片台词渗透情感教育。)

Step 4Production

1. 创设情景二:远在香港的Feynman和身在长沙的Joe通话,互相询问彼此昨天去了哪儿。教师先和一生示范练习。

T: Now, I’ll give a present to you. A mobile phone. Who wants to make a dialogue with me?

2. Time’s over now, what did we learn today? We learned to use the simple past tense to ask where was someone past time. So your homework today, call your friends by using the sentence patterns below. Thanks for your listening. See you!

(设计意图:拓展情境,让学生将课堂所学向课外延伸,激发学生在实际生活中运用英语的热情。)
