一、教材分析

单元及课文分析

本单元的日常用语主要围绕英语的生活化。教材为学生安排了多种使用学习英语的语言环境。帮助学习理解并掌握英语的重要性，以及如何运用使用英语。在本课的英语中，着重强调如何学习英语。教师可创设情境，让同学们在交流中学习学习英语的方式方法。

通过介绍Jessica学习英语的方法，使同学们养成勤查字典，多读，多说的习惯，并且要坚持不懈、持之以恒。

三、教学步骤

Step I Lead in-free talk

Lead the students to the new lesson.

How do you learn English?

Can you give me some advice?

Step II Fast reading.

Ask the students to talk about the questions in THINK ABOUT IT in

groups of four. T: Look at the questions How many ways does Teresa have when she learns English? What are they? Give the students enough time to discuss the questions and then ask some of them to give their opinions. T: Time is up. The first one, if you move to Canada, what difficulties will you meet? What will you do?

T: Good idea! How does Teresa learn English? S: Maybe she gets some help from her Canadian friends and she reads and speaks English a lot and listens to English as often as possible.

T: Good answer! Well, would you like to get the answers about how Teresa learns English?

Step III Listening

Ask the students to read to the text and answer some questions to get familiar with the text. Ask and Answer 1.When did Teresa go to Canada? 2.What does she speak at school? 3.Does she look up the new words in the dictionary? 4. Is she afraid to make mistakes? Suggested answers: Step IV

Find out the language points and talk about them.(2 minutes)

Ask the students to read the text and explain some language points to help them to understand the text better. T: Read the text silently and underline the sentences you don’t understand.

Then the teacher explains the language points to the students on the slide. 1.
