一、教学目标：

1.语言能力目标

（1）听：能听懂More Reading中关于伦敦过去和现在变化的短文。

（2）说：能描述伦敦过去和现在变化，并能口头回答问题。

（3）读：能朗读短文，提高阅读技能。

（4）写：能根据文章画出思维导图，并写出城市变化的文章。

2.语言知识目标

（1）词汇：the Thames River, London Bridge, clear, bright （2）句型：一般现在时: There is/ are…

一般过去时: There was/ were…

3.情感态度目标：通过学习短文，了解城市过去和现在变化发展的情况，培养建设城市的意识。

4、学习策略目标：通过小组活动，提高合作意识和能力。

5、文化品德目标：初步了解国内及国外的城市过去和现在变化发展情况。

6、思维品质目标：在学习中创设思维导图教学，引导学生创作思维导图解决学习问题，通过辩论环节训练学生的批判性思维。

二、教学重点和难点

重点：通过阅读短文，能初步画出思维导图来分类了解国内及国外的城市过去和现在变化发展情况，并能用There be（is/ are/ was/ were）…句型来表达。

教学难点：能运用正确时态结合there be句型完成描述城市的写作任务。

五、教学过程

Pre-reading Step 1: Warm up & Lead in

While-reading Step 2: Presentation and Practice

1. First Reading: Listen and find out the headings.

2. Second Reading:

1) Read the first paragraph, then find the key words to make the mind map together.

2) Read Paragraph 2, 3, 4, then make the mind map in groups. 3. Third Reading: read the passage silently and then answer the questions on P55. 4. Read the whole passage together.

Watch the pictures about old Beijing and Beijing today. 2.

Make a mind map about Beijing. 3.

Show time. 4.
