Step 1. Lead-in A video of our case- Saving Sherlock’s best friend- John Waston!

Step 2. Finding Clues with students Help students find the five context clues through a group competition Step 3. Apply the five context clues to identifying five new words in an authentic passage Step 4. Some reading tips from Edward Step 5. A singing performance from the students Step 6. Assignment 1.

Memorize the five context clues we’ve learned today and use them in daily reading 2.

Form a habit of reading. Combine intensive reading with extensive reading.
