Unit 2 Again, Please! Language goals:

1. Students are able to master the words of this unit. 2. Students can describe the countries with the sentences they have learned. Ability goals:

Students can describe the five countries with the sentences in this unit, and they can use these sentences in their daily life.

Moral goals:

1. Motivate the interests of learning English, increase the self-confidence,and train the cooperation of the students。

2. Expend the cultural horizon of the students, and the feelings of patriotism of the students。

Teaching important and difficult points:

Master the words and sentences of this unit. Use the language in the daily life. Analysis of the contents and students:

五年级学生已经有一定的英语基础知识,他们英语学习积极性高。这是一节复习课,相关知识都已学过,本节课只需要进行归纳总结和巩固提高。

1. Work in pairs and groups to train the cooperation of the students. 2. Set up the real situation to train the use of English in their daily life.

Teaching procedures:

Step1: Warming-up and revision (5min)

To greet the whole class in English. T: Good morning boys and girls, in this unit we have learned five countries. Do you still remember what they are? Today we’ll study our country and the English-speaking countries again.

【Aims】此环节的设置意在使学生每节课都以崭新的面貌和十足的信心进入课堂,并为下一步新课程的讲解做铺垫。新课导入,水到渠成。

Step2: Presentation (15min)

T: In this unit we have learned the names of the countries, the flags and the languages and so on. Today we are going to play a game to review.

【Aims】本环节设计了以逐层递进的方式复习本单元所讲的五个国家的特色,旨在充分调动学生的积极性,时刻留有悬念,使整个课堂充满新鲜感,富有挑战性。

Part One: Famous places Show the famous places of the five countries with PPT. Ask students to guess the names of countries according to it. Eg: This is the Great Wall and Tian’anmen Square. Yes, it’s China,

and we love China.

... 【Aims】此环节设置的目的旨在承接上一个环节,以图片的方式导入国家名称,以此来提高学生的兴趣并导入新课。展示各国风景名胜,采用不同形式让学生猜出名胜或国家名称;然后自动播放各国风景名胜,学生以组为单位快速说出相关句子。此环节检查了学生对已学知识的掌握情况。

Part Two: Guessing Game Show the maps of the five countries, and say out the feature of each country. Ask students to say out the countries according to the features. Eg: This is our motherland, we live here. Which country is it?

... 【Aims】此环节设置的目的是使学生能够形象直观地了解各国位置,在教授“China”时让学生喊出为中国加油的口号,适时进行爱国主义教育。

Part Three: languages Ask students to ask and answer in pairs with the help of the sentences:

---What do they speak in...? ---They speak... 【Aims】教师利用PPT出示单词以及短语,让学生来做问答练习。

不但检查了学生的掌握情况,也充分调动了学生热情,培养学生的合作意识。

Part Four: Capital city

Ask students to ask and answer in pairs with the help of the sentences:

---What is the capital city of... ---It is... 【Aims】此环节与上个环节类似。教师利用PPT出示单词以及短语,让学生来做问答练习。不但检查了学生的掌握情况,也充分调动了学生热情,培养学生的合作意识。

Part Four: Flag

T: There are some flags in the pictures. Can you describe the flag of each country? Eg: The flag of China is red, it has five yellow stars.

... 【Aims】:学生仿照句型造句,结合图片谈论各个国家国旗的特色,可以锻炼学生的口语表达能力。

Step3: Practice (10min)

Show a short passage about China with PPT. Ask the students to work in group and write down a short passage about the English--speaking countries. Then make a report to the whole class.

Eg: This country is China. We speak Chinese. The capital city of

China is Beijing. The flag of China is red, it has five yellow stars. The famous places are Tian’anmen Sqare and the Great Wall .

【Aims】此环节的设置目的是考察学生的本单元知识的整体把握,让学生以语篇的形式将所学内容表达出来,不仅锻炼了学生的口语表达能力,而且提高了学生的书写能力。

Step4:Production (5min)

Let student make a summary by themselves about the name, language, capital city, flag, and the famous places. 【Aims】作为本节课的一个小结环节,要求学生从国家名称,语言

首都,国旗和著名景点来总结回顾本单元的重点知识。

Step5: Homework

(5min)

Make a piece of hand-copied newspaper about this unit. 【Aims】手抄报的作业布置,不仅能够使学生总结本单元所学知识,而且可以寓教于乐,提高学生学习英语的兴趣。
