Part 1 The analysis of the teaching material and the students. The topic is Interpersonal Relationships ---Friendship . As we all know, friendship plays an important part in our daily life, so learning some skills in making friends is of great importance. This module is an optional part in the senior middle school, but it focuses on friendship, which is an important part in our daily life. By studying this passage, not only can the students improve their reading ability, but they also can improve their skills in making friends. Part 2 Teaching Aims 1.We will learn some useful words and expressions about friendship 2.We will develop the Ss' reading skills such as skimming, scanning, and careful reading. 3.We will make the students aware of the importance of making friends. Part 3

Teaching and learning strategy

We will use discussion, presentation, task-based teaching to improve the students’ skills in making friends. Part 4 Teaching procedures Step 1. Lead-in and speaking To give students chances to discuss, cooperate and use reading materials in page 2 and 3 , I will ask them to discuss :If you were Daniel, what should you do to help Roy get rid of trouble? As the old saying goes, a life without a friend is a life without the sun. No one can live a completely isolated life. There are many difficulties and problems we can’t overcome with our own effort. So we all need to have friends.

However, it is difficult at times to keep the friends we already have. Most of us have suffered the pain of broken friendship. If so, what you should do is to forgive your friend from the bottom of your heart. Otherwise, the friendship will likely die. Besides, you should be friendly and polite as an open-minded person. In a word, maintaining long-lasting and healthy friendship is worth the effort.

My principle in making friends is that they should be sincere ,tolerant and helpful. In my view, a true friend should be a person who can share my joys and sorrows, whatever happens.
