By the end of the lesson, students should be able to: (1) Knowledge aim: Revise four-skilled words and sentences of unit 2. Understand the main idea of the story. Know some basic knowledge of geography.

(2) Ability aim: Cultivate the ability of reading and performance. (3) Emotion aim: Conciousness of cooperation. 4. Teaching importance and difficulties:

(1) Importance: Get general idea of the story and act in groups. (2) Difficulties: Words, “beach, never, cheese”. Sentences, “So we never have snow for Christmas”. Understand the geography knowledge. 5. Teaching aids: Three chairs, head-wears, cards, multi-media,

passport and visa, camera, chalk, blackboard. 6. Teaching procedures:

Step 1: Lead-in Introduce a familiar friend—Angry Bird. Angry bird is from Finland. Finland is in the north of the globe. It is December. It’s snowy and very cold. He thinks, “I am the super star in computer games. I don’t like low temperature!

I want to go abroad to Australia!

That will be happy! ”

But he hasn’t passport and visa.

Step 2: Presentation (1)

T: Today, if you can help him to finish some tasks, he will get the above things and go abroad. Do you lose? Ss: No!

Present and teach new word, “never”.

Read some other examples which contain “never”. (2) Word storm. Theme: seasons. Then ask and answer,

“A: Which season do you like best?

B: Spring/ Summer/... A: What do you usually do in spring/ summer/ …? B: I usually…”

(3) After finishing two tasks, students help angry bird get

the passport and visa. He succeeds in going to Australia. He goes to the beach. Teach new word “beach”

and present sentence, “

I like sunny days”. (4) The beach is so beautiful. Angry bird wants to take a photo. He meets a koala Mr. K and asks him for help. Teach word “cheese” and practice in groups. (5) Angry bird and Mr.K become friend. Mr. K invites angry bird to go to China and celebrate Christmas with Zip and Zoom. But angry bird wants to visit Australia. So Mr. K goes to China.

(6) Talk about the season differences between Australia and China. Step 3: Practice”

(1) Read the story with the help of watching a cartoon. (Page 21) (2) Answer the following questions. (3) Read the story. (4) Repeat the story. ( Three choices, from the easy to the difficult.) Step 4：Extension: Role play. Perform the story.
