Teaching Aims: 1. Knowledge: (1) Learn the new words: school

(3) Can show around our school frequently. 2. Ability: Review the words and sentences learnt before, and learn some new introducing sentences.

3. Emotion:

Learn to express the names of rooms and to prove the sense of loving our school.

Main Points: 1. Review some words about rooms in our school 2. Learn some words and sentences about rooms 3. Learn to introduce the rooms of our school:

Difficult Points: The usage of new sentence structures.

Teaching Aids:

PPT, whiteboard multimedia, pictures, smiling faces, computer, group cards

Teaching Steps: Step I Greetings:

1. Sing a song: How’s the weather today? 2. Talk about the weather

Step II Revision: 1. Free talk:

What day is it today?

How many days are there in a week? What are they?

How are you today?

How old are you?

How many classes do you have everyday?

What’s your favorite subject?

Do you like English? 2. Divide into four groups:

Reading Room Group

Science Room Group

Computer Room Group

Art Room Group

T: I have some smiling faces for you. If you did good job, you can get them for your group. Who gets most smiling faces, you will be the best guide

today. So try your best! 3. Brain storm to review the words about the toys, shapes and colours

Presentation:

1. Learn the new word: school (1) Introduce our school

T: This is our school. Leifeng Primary School. It’s very beautiful and clean.

We love our school. (2) Talk about: How do you go to school? (3) Spell and read the word with the action (4) Say the sentence: This is our school. 2. Learn the new word: classroom (1) Look at the whiteboard and make a guess:

Ss: This is our classroom/ music room/ art room/ library... (2) Present: a door, three windows, six desks, four chairs, a big blackboard (3) Spell and read the word with the action (4) Say the sentences: This is our classroom. Welcome to our classroom. (5) T: What can you do in our classroom? We listen and do, speak and sing,

play and act. We do everything in our classroom. We also say the letters. (6) Say the letters quickly 3. Learn the new word: gym (1) Talk about: What can you do in the gym?

Ss: We can run/ swim/ jump/ play basketball/ play games/ play table tennis

in the gym. (2) Listen and introduce

T: There isn’t a gym in our school. But there is a big playground in our

school. We can do the exercises, do the Taekwondo exercises and play

games on the playground. Our school is famous for Taekwondo. Please

do the exercises everyday, because it’s good for you. It can make you

strong and healthy. (3) Spell and read the word with the action (4) Say the sentences:

This is our gym. Welcome to our gym. This way, please. Elicit: Thank you. (5) Sing a song with the action: Walking 4. Present the music room: (1) Ask and answer: What can you do in the music room? We can sing/

dance/ play the piano/ play the violin. (2) Ask a student to introduce our music room:

Ss: Thank you. (3) Sing a song together: Hello! How are you? 5. Present the library: (1) Look at the white board and introduce our library:

T: Let’s go to the library. There are so many books in the library. We can

borrow book from the library. So can you read them now? (2) Read it: The title is: How’s the weather? (3) Read it: The title is: I like school. 6. Introduce other special rooms: (1) Look and say: reading room
