Step I Lead-in and

Pre-reading

To show some pictures about

United Nations and United Nations peacekeepers.Some video about UN and UN peacekeeper. 2.

To show a video about Chinese peacekeepers. Tell Ss:There has never been a good war a bad peace,Peace is precious,we should cherish it! 3.

To deal with the important words in the passages that are going to be learned and let the Ss master them. (arm,involve,personnel,despite) Step II While-reading

Ask the Ss to listen to the video and think about some answers to some questions: 1.Who and when come up with the idea of UN peacekeepers? 2.When and Where the first UN peacekeepers were sent? 3.Which countries do peacekeepers come from? 4.Are all UN peacekeeping successful? After Listening,,another 3minutes is given to discuss the answers in groups, then ask some Ss to anwer them. Get main idea of every paragraph.Make sure the structures of the passage. What happened in the following years? Step III Post-reading Some other questions are given: 1.

What is the purpose of Un peacekeeping forces? 2.

Did you think the need for UN peacekeeping force will increase or decrease in the future? Disscuss freely and then ask someone to express. Step IV
