教材分析

本节课的学习内容是外研版选修六Module 2 Fantasy Literature中的reading and vocabulary部分。这一篇阅读课文The Cat That Vanished选自著名幻想小说His Dark Materials. 它要求学生掌握相关词汇，培养叙述故事梗概等技能，并提高对中外幻想文学、电影和鉴赏力。

二、学情分析

本模块的教学对象是高二年级学生。这些学生学习积极性高，善于合作学习，发言积极性高。因此，我主要是通过让他们自主学习，小组讨论，个人展示的方式来培养他们学习兴趣，让他们在此过程中获取知识，提升自己的各种能力。

三、教学目标

（一）知识目标

1. 掌握课文中的重点单词、短语和句型。

2. 学会分析句子中的长句和难句。

（二）能力目标

1. 阅读中能识别新学词汇、短语，并推断出其意义。

2. 阅读过程中能根据文字表面意思对其深层含义做出正确合理的推断。

（三）情感目标

通过阅读文章，提高对中外幻想文学、电影的鉴赏力。

四、教学要点分析

（一）教学重点

通过自主学习和阅读方法（略读、查读、细读）等，培养学生阅读能力。

（二）教学难点

通过运用所给出关键词，连词成句，连句成篇来培养学生综合语言表述能力。

六、教学过程

Step 1 Lead-in The topic of this module is fantasy literature. In the part

of INTRODUCTION, we have learnt that one of the greatest fantasy novels ever written is His Dark Materials. Now say something about its author, hero, heroine or the main plot of the story? （设计意图：通过重现INTRODUCTION内容，加深学生对His Dark Materials的了解，引出本节课所学内容）

Step 2 Reading 1. Read the passage from His Dark Materials and number the sentences in the correct order. A. Will decides not to return to his world. B. The cat vanishes. C. The cat comes up to Will. D. Will climbs through a hole. E. The cat behaves in a strange way. 2. Read the passage quickly and answer the following questions: 1) How was Will before he saw the cat? 2) How curiously did the cat behave before she vanished? 3) What did Will really see? 4) Did Will climb through a hole into another world? 5) What was the new world like? 6) What does Will think of the new world? 3. Read the passage carefully and tell whether these sentences are true or false.

1) It was very late at night when all this happened. 2) Will was excited because he had done some shopping. 3) The cat was a pet kept by Will. 4) The cat behaved strangely in order to attract Will’s attention. 5) Finally the cat disappeared into the bushes. 6) Will had been to the other world before. （设计意图：通过自主学习，小组讨论，展示点评，以培养学生阅读能力和合作学习能力）

Step 3 According to the following key words, tell“How did the cat guide Will into the other world?”

2. 熟读课文，背诵自己喜爱的句子。

（设计意图：进步巩固所学课本内容，通过背诵喜爱句子，为写好书面表达奠定基础。）
