Teaching aids: PPT, cards ,radio Teaching procedures: Step1. review: Let Ss look at the screen and ask questions: Do you have friends far from your home?

Where is your friend?

Step2. Presentation: (1.)

T: Look at picture, and tell me “what’s the difference?” The Ss look at the picture and answer “picture1 is old , picture2 is new” then I will guide the new phrases and sentences. lead Ss to ask questions each other: what do you want to do on New Year’s Day.And try to answer. (2.)

Open the book. Listen and number. what do you want to do on New Year’s Day?(work in groups) Then tell us the answer. (3.)

Look

Part B, and tick the special days and things todo. Step3:Practice

Let students look at Part B , they can choose one, ask and answer.

The teacher will give students some minutes work in the groups. (3)Students come in front of classroom and role play. (4)Teacher will ask: Which one is best? Step 4:Think and write Let students write Part C, then read. Let others group members apprise who is the best? Step 5:Summery Today we leaned some sentences: what do you want to do on New Year’s Day? I want to make a video call to my father.we can use these sentences in daily life. Step 6:Homework Use the sentences we learnt to make contact with your friends. 五．
