Unit5 What do they do?

Sound time & Culture time & Cartoon time

一教学目标:

1. 掌握字母y 的发音

2. 掌握“警察”和“消防员”两个词在英国英语和美国英语中的不同表达,并能了解一些其他的英国英语和美国英语中在表达同一事物和意思时用词不同的单词。

3. 理解cartoon time并能有感情的朗读,引导孩子体会Bobby 和朋友说话时的语气和情感变化。

二教学重难点:

1.掌握字母y 的不同发音。

三教学过程

Step1 Free talk

1. Quick response

大声说出看到的职业

设计目的:复习职业类的单词,并引出下面的work in pairs

Talk about your parents’ jobs

设计目的:复习句型What does your father / mother do? 及其回答。

Step2 Presentation

1.Culture time

(1). Show the picture about policeman and study the sentence:

In the US, we call a policeman a “cop”.

(2). Read after the tape

Read one by one

(3). Show ” firefighter” and study the sentence:

In the UK, we call a firefighter a “fireman”.

(4). Read after the tape

5. Introduce the other words: sweet film

2. Cartoon time

(1).Watch and answer:

What does Bobby’s father do?

What does Bobby’s friend’s father do?

(2). Read and find:

What do their fathers like?

Is Bobby happy in picture 4?

(3). 教师引导孩子体会从图片2到图片4 Bobby 的感情经历了什么样的变化。

设计目的:通过配音这一环节,让孩子熟练朗读cartoon 部分,并增强孩子的英语学习兴趣,促使孩子有感情的朗读并能深入情境的体会Bobby 的感情变化。

(5) Think and imagine

T: There are so many cars in the street. Bobby’s father can’t go now. So Bobby is very sad. what will say?

设计目的:通过这一问题的设置,让孩子们展开想象去说,并引入下一环节。

3. Sound time

(1) Show “ fly” and read it

Show the other words let the students read them

(2)让孩子们总结字母y在这些单词中的发音。

(3) Listen to the tape and read after the tape

(4) T: Try to read these words:
