Book 7 Lesson 19 Christmas is coming! 单位：油通小学 姓名:牛国哲 教材分析：本单元Li Ming、Danny、Jenny和她的家人共度了西方的传统节日。本课主要是让学生了解西方的圣诞节是什么时候，西方人们是怎么度过的，从而使学生们了解到更多外国文化知识。

学情分析：

教学目标：掌握Christmas、Christmas tree、Christmas lights、Santa等词组和单词。

了解special、bring、invite、sing、give 和carol等词的意思及在文中的用法。

能简单谈论关于圣诞节的话题。

了解西方的圣诞节和中西方文化的差异，托展视野。

教学重点：掌握Christmas tree, Christmas lights, Santa 等词组和单词。

教学难点：了解special, bring, invite, sing, give 和carol等词的意思。

教具： 圣诞树图画、彩灯、星、圣诞老人课件、自制日历

学具： 自己制作的圣诞装饰品。

教学过程：

一、Class opening and Review （1）Greeting. Good morning , everyone ! How are you ? ……

T: What day is today? S: It’s December 24th (使用自制日历). T: How do you feel now? S: I feel happy/tired ……. T: But I feel excited. Why? Because Christmas is coming! T: What is Christmas ? Now I will show you . （2）Revision: Review the holidays the students have learnt in Level 4 with ppt (Teachers’Day and Children’s day) use the structure of “What day is it?”. 2、Key Concepts:

Holiday、 Christmas、 Christmas tree、 lights、 Santa Introduce: (1)

Show the ppt again ,then tell students these are “holidays”. (2)

Show ppt ( Spring Festival ) , then tell students this is a Chinese holiday .Write “Chinese holiday”

on the blackboard and spell it . Ask students to repeat it . (3)

Show ppt of Christmas .There is Santa、 Christmas tree 、lights in the ppt . Then tell students this is Christmas . It is a Western holiday . (4)

Point to Santa Christmas tree and lights , then ask some questions , For example: What is this ? What colour is it ? And then write down these words as the students spell them . (5)

show the other new words : special, bring, invite, sing, give and carol. 3、Use the student book and audiotape . Invite Jenny to introduce Christmas . Give some questions before you play the audiotape . After the audiotape , ask students to try to find aswers in this . 4、Practice: Teacher pretends today is Christmas . Teacher wants to invite someone , then makes dialogues . Such as : Today is Christmas .I want to invite someone to come for Christmas……

Note: Use these words :Christmas tree, Christmas lights, Santa special, bring, invite, sing, give and carol. 5、Homework: After class ,students find something more about Christmas and talk about it in small groups.
