【教材简解】

本节课是译林版小学英语（三年级起点）五年级下学期第八单元的故事教学。本课时的话题是“生日”，通过Su Hai 和Mike谈论过生日的时间，在生日那天做什么，吃什么，意在让学生了解中西方文化中不同的生日风俗习惯。话题贴近学生的生活实际，让学生在真实的情境中理解并掌握本课时的语言知识。

【设计思路】

新课程标准强调落实学生的主体地位，教者应创设一定的情境，引导学生主动探究，自主学习，培养学生探究未知的兴趣、习惯和能力。本课时我准备采用自主，合作，探究的学习方式。课堂上以学生阅读、讨论、感悟为主。为学生营造能够让他们都愿意积极参与的融洽的学习环境，让学生在自由而充分的学习活动中生成能力，提高英语素养。

【设计意图：课前播放五月的动画，吸引学生注意力，回忆五月的节日，感受五月的唯美和浪漫，激发他们谈论五月的兴趣。】

【设计意图：歌曲朗朗上口的演唱，带着学生快速进入英语课堂，让学生大声唱出五月的快乐，在歌声中感受语言的魅力。】
