Part C: Story time I.

Teaching objectives:

Knowledge objectives:

Enable students to grasp several difficult words in the story such as film, gorilla, popcorn,exciting, sign and talk quietly. Ability objectives:

Enable students to improve their speaking , reading and acting ability. Emotional Objectives:

To initiative their awareness of being polite in public places. Ⅱ.Teaching important and difficult points: 1.

Some difficult words in the story. 2.

To improve their speaking and acting ability. 3.

To make them know that being a qualified student or citizen is very important. Ⅲ.Teaching methods:

Situational approach; TBLT; groupwork. Ⅳ.Teaching aids: PPT, a flash, a short video, some pictures. Ⅴ.Teaching procedures: 1.

Warming up. First, welcome students to the Grade Five Movie Theater and

play a movie about gorilla for them. Then, tell students that they’re going to see the film with Zoom, Zip and their friends together. 2.

Presentation. First, divide students into 6 groups, each group is in charge of one picture to discuss what their picture is mainly about. Next, the representative of each group is supposed to do the report. Then , we will focus on some difficult words in the story. In addition, play the flash for them and lead them to read after the flash to imitate the tone and intonation. Finally, lead students to role play the story in groups and invite several groups to role play it. 3.

Practice. Role play the story between boys and girls. 4.

Consolidation. Play a short video related to students reading in the school library, lead them to find out what’s going on and what’s wrong. 5.

Summary. Invite several students to summarize what they’ve learned in this class. 6.

Homework.
