Teaching procedures

Step 1 Warming up & Revision 1. Oral communication. ( My day ) 2. Ask some of the students to retell the four skill words of Unit One. Then check some individuals to spell the key words in this unit. Pay attention to the spelling of do morning exercises, go shopping, and go for a walk. 3. Use the same way, ask the students try to retell the key sentences in Unit1 one by one. 4. Ask the students to translate some key sentences into English on PPT. Check the answers and ask the whole students to read the key sentences together. At last, to open the books to read the sentences on Page 79 together.

Step 2 Presentation & Practice 1. Ask and answer. To learn something about the student’

weekend’s actions like What do you often do on the weekend? When do you get up? When do you eat breakfast?

At last, tell the Ss, You are so helpful at home? Ask the other students to talk about why he/she is helpful at home? Then lead out the word busy, what else?

Board the words or sentences and lead the students to read and understand them. 2. Show the picture of Story Time. Ask some of the Ss to describe Zoom and Zip. Guide the Ss to tell me what’s Zip’s favourite food? Then lead out the word nuts

and collect nuts and dry the nuts. Then board them and read them together. 3. Listen to the story and answer the following questions: A. What day is it today? B. Is Zip very busy? C. What does Zip do on the weekend? 4. Watch the video and ask the Ss to read the story one by one. Pay attention the pronunciations of some words collect, nuts, else, show. 5. Ask some little teachers to lead the other Ss to read the story one by one.

6. Try their best to read the story. Walk around the class to help the students who need to help. At last, try to read the story together. Step 3 Consolidation & Extension Exercises Answer the questions.

Step 4 Summary & Homework 1. Check the difficulties. (Read and retell the story) 2. Retell the story to their parents.
