Unit5 Problems and advice

The First Period(Text Understanding) Class: Class 1, Grade 1 Teacher: Mazhong Date: April 16 2017 Teaching Objectives Knowledge Objective:

To enable students to think about what they should do in certain situation

Competence Objective: To practice students’ speaking abilities

Emotional Objective: to help the students to master how to deal with the problems and advice

Language Focus and Difficulties: To help Students get the general idea of each excerpt and ask for advice how to solve some problems they have met with

Time Allotment: 40 minutes Teaching Procedures:

Ⅰ.pre-reading

Activity 1: Look at the pictures on PPT. Discuss with your deskmates: Are these phenomena civilized or uncivilized?

Activity 2: Afterthoughts

Ⅱ.While-reading:

Activity 3: Skim three letters, then fill in the blanks and answer the questions

Activity 4: Scan letter 1 and answer the questions

Activity 5: Afterthoughts

Activity 6: Scan letter 2 and then do T or F questions

Activity 7: Afterthoughts

Activity 8: Scan letter 3, then fill in the blanks and answer the questions

Activity 9: Afterthoughts Ⅲ.Post-reading:

Activity 10: Summary: Fill in the table

Activity 11: Draw a conclusion

Ⅳ.Homework Assignment 1. Read the text and learn new words by heart. 2. Recall one of your experiences that previously made you regretful. Rethink about it and write down a new and more suitable solution to it.
