May is the fifth month of the year.
June is the sixth month of the year. 3. Difficult points.
People sing and dance to celebrate May Day.
We give gifts to our mothers to show our love.
Many children perform to celebrate.

T: Hello, boys and girls. We are friends. I’ll give you gifts to show my love. Just now we
choose the box, now let’s see what’s in the box?
Talk about them or ask questions in pairs.

Read this sentence. T: When is Children’s Day? (Point to the date.) S: It’s on June 1st. T: Yes, it’s on the first day of June. So…
S: The first day of June is Children’s Day in China. (Ask and answer in pairs.) T: How do we celebrate Children’s Day at school?? S: We get gifts/ sing and dance/ perform to celebrate Children’s Day. (Students should change the words in red. Tell them “charity sales”)

设计意图:通过儿童节儿童节送给儿子礼物的照片导入本节课新知--儿童节,通过询问儿童
节的月份以及日期,帮助学生学习新词汇“June”、“sixth”,使学生自然的说出
儿童节的具体日期,教师介绍日期不同的语言表达方式,使学生能够掌握一句话
的多种语言表达方式。利用
“How do we celebrate it at school?”
and “How do
you celebrate it with your parents?”
问题,开拓学生的思维,学习使用句式“We
get gifts/ sing and dance to celebrate Children’s Day.”来表达在学校以及和父母
都是如何过的儿童节,使学生能够根据自己的生活经验来输出语言知识。另外
“How do you celebrate it with your parents?”这样的问题设置也为下一节内容做
好铺垫。

2. (6’)
T: Well. Look, when I give my son a gift, he draws a picture for me to show his love.
We often get gifts from our parents. But what do you give to them? They are so
hard every day. They also have their own festivals: “Mother’s Day” and “Father’s Day”. T: When are these festivals? Can you guess? One of them is in June. S: Father’s Day. T: Yes. And Mother’s Day is a month early. It’s in May.
Learn “May” Read it.
(Show the calendar.) T: When is May? S: May is the fifth month of the year.
Read this sentence. T: When is Mother’s Day?
(point to the calendar)
It’s on the 2nd Sunday of May. T: When is Father’s Day?
It’s on the third Sunday of June.
T: How do you celebrate these festivals? What will you give to your parents?
Or maybe you will do something to them. Please tell us.
And you’d better use the sentence like this: We ... to our ... to show our love.
Please say it in your group, and then one or two tell us.
设计意图:本节设计是通过展示儿子送的画,问学生“你们收到礼物的同时,给过父母什么
礼物吗?”
引出节日“Mother’s Day”
和“Father’s Day”。并通过猜这两个节日在
那个月,学习了解这两个节日的所在月以及具体日期,并学习了新词汇“May”、
“fifth”。最后一个环节通过小组内讨论汇报的方式,训练学生的英语思维以及
培养学生的对父母关爱的人文素养。

T: Look! What’s he doing? S: He is cleaning the table. T: Yes, he always do some housework for me. How about you?

T: If you do more housework at home, your parents will be happy, yes? Because labour is
very hard work. Do you know labour? Labour is the thing you do with your hands.
Every year, we have “Labour Day” in China. Let’s read it. T: Labour Day is also called May Day. So you know, when is May Day? (Point to the date.) S: It’s on May 1st. T: According all of these, we know why we celebrate these festivals, because of “love”.
Yes, We love our parents, they love us. We all love labour.
So “love” is the main topic of this lesson.
设计意图:本节设计是通过为父母做家务来表达对父母的爱,这样的语言表达引出劳动节以
及劳动节的日期。并引出本课的主题“love”。进而提升学生的人文素养。
4. (5’)
1) T: Well. Now let’s listen to the tape, Part 1, tell us what you hear?
(The students say something.) Then read the first passage.
2) T: Listen the second part, then try to ask a question to your friend. (The students listen and ask and answer in pairs.)
Then read the second part.

Listening: My favourite Day ----Mother’s Day Mother’s Day is a holiday with cards, gifts and flowers. Mother’s Day is on the second Sunday of May.

I like Mother’s Day best, because I have a great mother. My mother is kind to everyone. She works hard, but she still takes good care of me day and night. She gives anything to me that I need. Sometimes it is a little difficult for me to show my love for her, but I always give her a card and write like this, "I love you, mother!"
On this day I let my mother relax with the rest, and I do all the housework. I love my mother, I love Mother’s Day.
Remember-- Maternal love is the greatest power in the world.

3. (9’)
T: This time, can you try to talk about your favourite day or month?
You’d better use these words.
May/ June, fifth/ sixth, one of the four festivals, celebrate, give...to..., love, gift, perform, happy, enjoy One Star: Use not less than 6 words. Two stars: Use not less than 8 words. Three stars: Use all the ten words. And you can talk by yourself, you can also make a short dialogue with your friends.
Two minutes to prepare. Begin!

词汇以及评价标准。巩固并能够反馈出学生的知识掌握情况。
