He spent about twenty-one hours in space.是新标准英语六年级下册第七模块第一单元的内容。课文围绕杨利伟乘坐神舟五号飞入太空的伟大事迹展开，要求学生掌握过去式的用法。本模块主要用于过去时介绍人物的生平事迹，有助于学生树立伟大的理想。

二、教学目标

知识目标: 1.能够听懂、会说并认读单词spent（spend） flew（fly） about video October proud someday 2.能够读懂、会说并认读下列句子：

He spent about twenty-one hours in space. In October, my father flew into space in Shenzhouⅴ. He also made a video in space. I was very proud of him. 技能目标: 能够听说读写本课的单词和课文。

能够听懂课文，并回答课文中的相关问题。

能够根据提示，描述杨利伟和神舟五号的故事，并能运用过去时描述过去的事情或讲述人物的生平事迹。

情感目标: 通过杨利伟事迹的介绍，激发学生学习的动力，培养学生的爱国热情，帮助学生树立远大的理想。
