5A Unit3 Our animal friends(Story time) My topic is “Story time”taken from Unit3,5A.It talks about animal friends.The students are very familiar with it. They are interested in it and are willing to take part in this lesson. The Yilin Primary English stresses on the interest of the students and values the participation of the students.According to the the contents and the features of the students.I establish the following three aims: 1.Knowledge aims:They can know more words about body parts,read and understand the story. 2.Ability aims:

They can talk about animals by using “I/ They have”“It has”. 3.Emotion aims: They can cooperate with their partners and can raise the consciousness of protecting animal friends. Key points: They can know more words about body parts and talk about animals using They have..., It has.... Difficult points:They can retell the story and use It has correctly. In order to achieve these aims, I need some teaching aids:

words cards,PPT and multimedia computer.

I also use the following teaching methods:

Cooperated method, task-based method and communicative method. Before the class, I will divide my students into four groups. They can be praised based on their performance. Teaching procedures: Step 1 Warming-up a.Enjoy a song - If you are happy!(I will play this song downloaded from the Internet by the multimedia computer first. In this way, I want to keep students relaxed and arouse their interest in English. )Secondly,there will be a free talk, encourage students to speak English. b.Review the words

I will show some pictures collected from the Internet

about body parts ,ask them to review some words about body parts and help the students link the old knowledge to the new one. c.Describe yourself

I will set an example and ask students to describe themselves. Step 2 Presentation

a.Learn new words Then I will show a picture of my animal friend and ask them to describe it.Then I will teach them to learn the new words,body-bodies,foot-feet,leg,tail,arm.Then I show a picture of another animal friends and learn wing. b. Practice new words Fill the blank.

Students will say some animals.Yes, They are our animal friends.There are four students. They are also talking about their animal friends. Who are they? They are Nancy, Mike, Liu Tao and Su Hai. a. Watch the cartoon and finish the match What animal friends do they have? Turn to Page28. Watch the cartoon and finish the match.(Learn the story wholly.) Learn the story in details. b. Read the Paragraph 1 and answer the following questions.

1. What colour are they?(In this question, they will learn One...the other) 2. What do they have? 3. What can they do? c. Read Paragraph 2 and 3,circle their sameness.

d. Read Paragraph 2 and 3 again,underline their differences.

(In this way, I want my students to learn to get the details. ) e. Listen to Paragraph 4 and fill in the blanks. (I will learn the four paragraphs in different ways to arouse the students’ interest.In the process, I will stick the key words on the blackboard.) f.Practice. 2. Group-work.(Choose one picture) Read together.(one sticker for them) Read one sentence by one sentence (two stickers for them) 3. Sole-work.(Choose one picture and Retell it)(They can use the animal cards and headwear)(three stickers for them) Step 4 Expansion Say and guess This is a pair-work.I will show some pictures of animals. One student describe the animal, and the other guess what is it. Step 5 Emotion education I will show some pictures about the harmonious relationship between human and animals with moving music.Let them know that animals are our friends. We should protect them. Step 6 Summary I will encourage students to say the words about body parts, such as: body, leg, feet,arm,tail, wing. When we talk about one animal,we use It has... When we talk about more than one animal, we use They have...(In this way, I want my students learn to summarize.) Step 7 Homework This is the last part.I will ask students to tall their parents and friends about their animal friends.
