一、教学内容分析

本个模块谈论的话题是Famous People,学习用英语描述名人的生平和事迹。本模块旨在了解中外著名人物的生平和事迹,体会并学习他们的高尚情操和顽强拼搏的精神,从而能用过去时就“名人”的话题进行交流。因此知识量多信息量大,为学生提供了大量的信息差,可以进行真实的语言交流。

这个课时是本模块的最后一个课时,本节课的课型定位为读写教学课。结合《新课标》培养学生综合运用语言能力的理念,考虑到学生已有的语言知识水平,以及本模块的能力培养目标,在内容重组上,我选取了《Walt Disney》这一本少儿名人传记,并通过查找相关资料充实故事内容。这本读物语言难度在本模块之上,但学生通过图片和老师的引导是能够理解的。因此,我基本没对书中的语言作很多的修改,让学生接触地道的英语,让学生尝试去挑战一本传记的阅读,以传记的形式了解一位名人,丰富语言的学习,提高学生阅读能力,为语言输出提供更多的语言范例。书中主人翁对梦想的追求,永不放弃的精神,成为学生学习的楷模,也为学生的人文素养培养提供了很好的机会。本课的名人传记作为泛读材料处理。

二、学生分析

到了六年级第二学期,学生已有六年的英语学习了,对英语有浓厚的学习兴趣,并形成了良好的学习习惯和策略。从心理特点来看,他们逐步从喜欢虚构的故事、事物过渡到喜欢有现实意义的人和物,喜欢交流想法,喜欢评论事物。

在学习能力上,学生已积累了相当丰富的词汇量,形成一定的阅读策略,并具有初步的写作能力。在模块内容上,三年级学生已接触过人物国籍的表达,四年级学生已初步接触了如何对人物进行描写,如外貌、爱好、职业等。而本模块教学时,我有意识在每一课时渗透写名人的方法,让学生大量阅读有关名

人的文章,并在每一课时后都让学生以复述、写话等方式对一些名人作简单的描写。有了以上的语言积淀,希望通过本节课学生的读、写能力有更大的提升。

三、教学目标

1.语言知识目标:

(1)“二会”理解Walt Disney传记中的新单词。

(2)能运用一般过去时描述名人的事迹。

2.语言技能目标:

通过谈论和阅读,能够运用所学的语言描述名人。

3.情感态度目标:

通过对名人事迹的了解,树立良好的学习榜样,形成正确的价值观,学习名人顽强拼博、永不放弃的良好品质,激发学生积极的学习和生活情感。

4.学习策略目标:

(1)培养学生积极主动地参与语言实践活动,主动与别人合作交流的策略。(2)培养学生在文中学习新单词的学习策略。

(3)培养学生对长篇文章的阅读策略及mind-map理念下的写作策略。

(4)培养学生通过网络等渠道搜集资料,并根据资料进行写话的策略。

5.文化意识目标:

了解名人的成功轨迹,激发学生热爱生活,永不放弃的情感。

1.长篇文体的阅读指导。

3.综合写作能力的培养。

六、教学理念及教学策略

1.结合教学的内容和学生的特点,体现读写课的课型特点,采用shared-reading的教学理念,让学生以图文的形式读这本传记。并采用jigsaw reading的教学方法,让学生以小组合作的方式完成文章的构建。

2.以学生自学、小组学习等方式,利用学生已有的词汇学习策略,在老师引导下理解阅读材料。

以brain storming的方式,让学生快速回忆已有的对名人的了解,激活描述名人所用的语言,以Mind-map的形式,形成描述名人的思维图,为下面的学习作铺垫。

1.Early life

Walt Disney was born in a poor family in America on December 5th,1901. At school he liked art best. He liked drawing cartoons. He began to draw when he was 6. In 1919 when he was 18, Walt started to work for a film company (/’kɒmpənɪ/). In the evenings he made his own cartoons at home.

2.Cartoons

In 1922,Walt began to draw lots of pictures and took photos of them. When the photos were put together and played very fast, the pictures looked like moving. Like the borning of a dinosaur from an egg in the picture. This is called animation(/,ænɪ'meɪʃən/). In 1923, Walt moved to Hollywood to make cartoons, with his brother Roy. They bought an old building and it was the Walt Disney Studio(/'stju:dɪəʊ/). This is how the Walt Disney Company began.

3.Mickey Mouse

In 1928, Walt and his friend Ub, made a cartoon characrer(/kærəktə/)——Mickey Mouse. Mickey Mouse became very famous. His friend Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Pluto and Goofy were famous too. The first two Mickey Mouse cartoons were silent(/saɪlənt/). Walt worked very hard, then he knew how he could have sound in his films. Soon he learned how to use his own voice for Mickey Mouse. And this was the first film with sounds in the world. And that day, November 18th,1928,was Mickey Mouse’s birthday.

4.Colour

Films were black and white because people did not know how to make films in colour. In 1932, Walt made the first coloured cartoon in the world——Flowers and Trees. After this, Walt made all his films in colour.

5.Music and films

In 1933, Walt began to use music in his cartoons. He recorded the music first, and then made the cartoons and music played together. The Three Little Pigs was the first cartoon made like this. At first, cartoons were very short. Then Walt started to make longer films, like Snow White, Bambi. In 1939, he won 29 Oscars(/ɒskə /)

for his films. And he had the most Oscars in the world.

6.Disneyland Walt had many new ideas for entertainment(/entə’teɪnmənt/). His next idea was to build a theme(/θi:m/)

park for the children. The first Disneyland opened in California in 1955, more than 46 years ago. Walt wanted to open a second theme park called Disney World in Florida in 1966. He became ill and died just before it was finished. Many people were sad because they enjoyed his work so much.

7.Walt Disney Company and Theme Parks

Today, there are ways to see Walt Disney. You can see his cartoons at the cinema. His company is still in America and makes films like The Lion King.

8.Disney with our life

There is a street in London,its name is Disney Street.This shows how important people think Walt Disney is.Here is a photo of him and his wife Lily,in Disney Street. The Walt Disney Company also has many theme parks. After Walt died, Disneyland in Florida opened. The newest theme park is Europe, in France, near Paris.Also,there are Disney World in Japan and Hong Kong. People have great fun in Disney World! a Disney died, but his stories did not die. They are still very popular with people all over the world, children and adults. The characters in his stories are kind, brave, clever, honest /'ɔnɪ st/, funny and happy. Everyone enjoys his stories.

And there are Disney Stores,we can buy many things of Disney cartoons, such as books, VCDs, toys, schoolthings, watches, clothes, cups….They are very popular.

Disney really let our life be happier and more colourful!
