（1）climb up: 爬上、攀登。

（2）the Big Wild Goose Pagoda：大雁塔；the Small Wild Goose Pagoda：小雁塔，是西安的名胜古迹，除此之外，还有the Drum Tower: 鼓楼；the Bell Tower: 钟楼；the Terra Cotta Warriors: 兵马俑

探究二:You can hit the ancient drum in the Drum Tower. （你可以去鼓楼敲鼓）

ancient: 古老的；古代的

ancient city:古老的城市，ancient history: 古代史

反义词：modern: 现代的

modern city: 现代城市

探究三:Look at the sign, “No photos!”（看那个标语：“禁止拍照！”）

（1）sign: n. 招牌、记号：a traffic sign: 交通标志

v. 签字、签名。

例：Please sign your name here.

(2) No photos: 禁止拍照，类似的标识还有：No smoking:严禁吸烟；No climbing: 禁止攀爬

探究四:Eat true Chinese food and enjoy the special dishes of Xi'an. （吃真正的中国食物，享受西安的美味小吃。）

（1）dish: 饭菜；盘

（2）enjoy: 及物动词，意为喜欢、享受，其后接名词、代词或动词的ing形式，它常构成短语：enjoy oneself, 意为玩得高兴，相当于

have a good time.

例：My mother enjoys reading.

He enjoys himself in the party.

探究五：I want to sit on one of the horses.（我想坐在其中的一个马上。）

one of +名词复数，意为“……之一”one of 在句中作主语时，谓语动词用单数，后面所接名词要用复数。

例：Changjiang River is one of the rivers in China.

He is one of the students in his class.
