Unit 1 My Family
the 1st period
Teaching goals:
1. To learn some new words about family members.
2. To use “who” to ask “Who is he/she?”
3. Distinguish “he” and “she”.
Teaching important points
1.Sentence patterns:Who’s that man(boy)? He’s
my…Who’s that woman(girl)? She’s my…
2.Words:father, mother, mom, woman, man
Teaching difficulty: The difference between”he” and “she”
Teaching materials: photos of ss’ families; ppt.; some pictures in the ss’
books.
Teaching procedure:
Stage 1.Greetings and warming up
T says “hello”to ss, and ask some questions:
1.What your name? 2. How are you?
(look at the screen).show a TV play called《家有儿女》. Give them a brief introduction about it.
Stage 2 Presentation
(a family photo )
1.How many people are there in the family?(7)
2. Who are they?(Learn the new words: grandfather, grandmother, mother, father, sister, brother)
3. Give each of their photos and show the new words.
4. Elicit the sentence”Who is she/ he?”
Stage 3 Practice
1. Read the new words (T will use some pictures ), and practice the sentence pattern.
2. Play a game(T will show a picture ,and read the word, if it is right, the student just sit, but if it is wrong, the student need to run and T will try to chase .students must go back their seats before T’s chasing.) 3. Twrites down the word”family”.What does each letter stand for?

Teaching procedure: Step 1: Warm-up/Revision
1.Students hold their own family pictures and introduce their family members to the class.
For example: He’s my father. She’s my mother.
2.
Two ss in a team, standing face to face, hold his or her own picture to practice the dialogue:Who’s that man? Who’s that woman?
Step 2: Presentation
1.The teacher show a picture of Chen Jie and ask ss: Who’s this girl?
ss answer:She’s Chen Jie. and stick the picture on the board.
2.Show two pictures of father and mother, ask the ss:Who’s that man (woman)?Lead ss to say:He’s Chen Jie’s father(dad). She’s Chen Jie’s mother (mom). And put the pictures on the board.
3.Take out the word cards: father, dad, mother, mom, man, woman, let ss put the word cards on the board for the right pictures.
4.T ask:There are 4 people in Chen Jie’s family, too. Do you know who are they? Let the ss guess first then show the pictures and read:
grandfather (grandpa), grandmother(grandma), brother, sister, put the pictures on the board and make as a family tree.
Tip :explan to ss taht grandpa, grandma often used in the oral English.
5.T show the word cards :grandfather (grandpa), grandmother(grandma), brother, sister and let the ss put every word under the right picture, then read the words.
6.T write the sentence on the board:This is a family tree. How many people in Chen Jie’s family? Who are they?
7.Play video of “Let’s learn A”,
ss read while watch. Let ss play the role of Chen Jie and introduce the family members:This is my family. He’s my… She’s my…
8.Let ss take a family photo to the class and introduce their own family members. Teacher can ask :Do you love your father and mother? I love my father and mother. What about you?
9.Paly the song“Father and mother”, ss learn how to sing it.
Practice
1.Listen and show
T say :Show me the picture of your mom. Ss rise the picture of Mom and say:She’s my mom.
2.Listen and choose
Ask a s to read the words, the other s should take out the word card from the board.
3.Make a family tree
Get ss in teams, let ss to make a family tree by themselves..
Add-activities
Show the ppt of Let’s learn(A)to the ss
Let one s to ask questions:Who’s this/that man/woman? The others answer.

Teaching points : learn how to read and write Ff, Gg; fish, goose, girl, father.

read the letters
divide the ss in teams, show them the words cards, see which team can read the words first.
Who can be the fatest
Make the ss into two groups, one hold big letters, the other hold small letters, t read the letters fast, who hold the right card should stand up fast, the first one can get two points, the second one can get one point. Who get the most points will win.
2.T show the pictures, let ss say the words and the first letter.
3.Play the video of Unit 1,review the letters A-E。
4.Play the recorders of Unit 1 Let’s do,ss can do the actions when they listen.
Presentation
1.Ss watch the video of Let’s say, explain the scene.
T ask:What can you see in the picture? Tell ss try their best to use English expressing the words.
2.Learn the letters Ff and words fish, father.
1)T click the little girl’s father, and ask:Who’s the man? Let the ss answer the word:father.
2)T ask:What is he doing? Click the fish and say:Look! What’s this? Can you tell me in English?
3)Click the fish, let the ss listen to word and imitate.
4)T read the word fish first and tell ss :
He is fishing. (acting when say the word, help ss to understand.)
5)T ask: Can you guess what are the first letter of these two words?
6) Show the word card of father, let ss to read.
7)T show the word card, ss understand Ff.
8)T write letters in lines. Ss can practice.
3.Learn Gg and words girl , goose。
1) T click the girl and ask:Can you speak this word? Ss say girl.
2) T ask:What is she doing? Then click the goose and say:Look! What’s this? Can you tell me in English?
3) Click the goose and ss can read.
4) T read goose first and say:
She is playing with the goose. (acting when say the word, help ss to understand.) 5.Ss read follow the recorder. Use the recorder of Let’s say/A.

period

Come on! Really? Watch TV.
Teaching difficulty: learn how to use the sentence.

Teaching procedure:
Warm-up/Revision
1 Read and act
T show the word cards of family members, ss read loudly and act. T:“Who’s this?”S:“mother”.T“Act like father”.
2 Read and match
T show the big picture of A/Let’s learn, ss read the cards, put the cards beside the pictures. Ss can be little teacher and ask:“Who’s he?”answer:“father/…”
Presentation
1 Talk about the pictures
Ss show class their own pictures. The other ss can ask question freely:“Who’s he? Who’s she?” owner of the pictures can answer the questions. T can give some praise such like:“Great! Cool! Wow! Come on! Really?”
2 Watch video
Play the video of B Let’s talk, t ask questions.
1)In this dialogue, who introduce his family to whom?
2) In this dialogue, how many interjections are used?
3) Ss answer the questions.
4) play the dialogue again, ss listen carefully to the tone.
3 Watch the courseware.
1) T play the video of the B Let’s talk, first play all of it , then click it repeatly, picture by picure, sentence by sentence. Ss can imilate the tone while watching.
2) Watching the video again, and encourage the ss talking while watching. 3) Turn off the sound, ss play the role in the video.
Practice
1 activity 1:Talk about the picture
Ss look at the pictures of each other, use the sentence they have learned to talk.
2 activity 2:Let’s practice
T show her own photo to lead the talk:“Who’s that ?”T:“Guess!”S:“Is she your sister/…?”T:“No, This is my…”
Ss can ask questions freely use sentence like:“Is she your sister/…?”
3 activity 3:
T use the family members’ photo, let ss guess:“Is she your sister/…?”

Play the video
Watch the video and talk about it, use the sentences:“Is she/he your….? Who’s this boy/…? Great! Cool! Wow! Come on! Really? Watch TV )
