一、教学内容:《译林英语》5B Unit7 Chinese Festivals(Story time) 第一课时
二、教材分析:
本单元的Story time是介绍了中国的四大传统节日,从时间、活动、食物三个方面展开描述。本课作为第一课时,主要新授Story time中的七个月份名称、四个节日名称、还有mountain, dragon boat races, dumplings等生词。
三、教学目标: 知识目标:
1. 能在故事情境中听懂、会读、会说单词:festival, dumpling, January, February, May, June , dragon boat ,race, place, rice dumpling, September, October, moon, moon cake, November, mountain。 2. 初步理解四个传统节日,能用The….is in….介绍节日所在的月份,了解会说人们在每个节日的通常会做的事。
能力目标:通过学习,能用自己的语言描述中国节日。
情感目标:
了解文中四个节日更多的文化内涵并享受节日带来的乐趣。
四、教学重难点
重点:能正确理解对话内容,初步运用单词与句型。 难点:掌握节日与月份的表达。

六、教学过程
Before class 1. Enjoy a song
【设计意图】歌曲欣赏,营造出轻松愉悦的气氛,并且让学生对一年的12个月份有初步的印象。
2. Self-introduction
T: Hello, boys and girls. I’m Miss Zhu. I’m your English teacher today. Do you know me? No? So let me introduce myself. I want to make friends with you.
T: I like travelling and taking photos. I usually take photos when I’m free. T:This time, let me know you. Ok? (首先结合图片简单介绍自己,然后随机对学生进行提问:
What do you like doing? What do you usually do at weekends?)
T: Now, I know some of you. We are friends now. let’s begin our class. Ok? Class begins. 【设计意图】因为是接班上课,所以在课前进行谈话热身,拉近师生之间的距离,做好上课准备。
Step1. Warming up 1.
Enjoy some photos T: I like taking photos. Do you want to see my photos. Let me show you.

T: What are these pictures about? They are about festivals. (教学festival) T: A festival means a holiday. So it means… Ss:节日。
T: Christmas and Halloween are Western festivals. T: Are they western festivals? They’re Chinese festivals. Today we’re going to talk about Chinese festivals. (揭题)

Try to ask T:We will learn a story about Chinese festivals. What do you want to know? Can you ask? 【设计意图】引导学生根据主题自主提问,将学生置于主动学习的地位,潜移默化地培养学生敢于提问,敢于质疑的信心和能力。

Learn about festivals (1) Guess and match T: Look, here are some pictures about different Chinese festivals. Can you give the name to the pictures? Try to guess what festivals they are. Discuss with your partner.(在学生讨论的同时将代表节日的四个小图标板贴。) T: You think this is Spring Festival? Why? You can see the word Spring here. The Mid-Autumn Festival:Why? Autumn The Dragon Boat Festival:
Boat. Yes, you can see the boats here. The last one. (根据学生的猜测将节日名称贴在黑板)
(2) Watch and check T: Good guessing! Are they right? Let’s watch the cartoon and check together.

Picture3: Dragon: Look! What’s this? It’s a boat. It’s a special boat. It looks like a dragon. So we call it dragon boat. (教学dragon)

【设计意图】在教学四个节日时,先让学生通过图片和字面意思猜一猜每幅图对应的节日的英文,让学生在思考的过程中唤醒旧知并理解节日的特征。然后看卡通进行确认并通过不同的教学方法逐一教学四个节日,让学生理解节日英文的含义。
5. Learn about months T: Different festivals come in different months. Look! The four festival come in these months. In which season does each festival come?

【设计意图】教学完四个节日的名称后,通过听音连线的方式学习月份单词并让学生了解每个节日所在的月份。月份单词的教学是个难点,在这里通过发现读音规律、听音等不同的教学方法,帮助学生理解并记忆,避免了单一枯燥的学习。
6. Learn about different activities and food (1) Read and choose At different festivals, people do different things and eat different kinds of food. What do they do or eat? Next,please read the story carefully and finish the form.

●Dragon Boat Festival At Dragon Boat Festival, there are dragon boat races. Look! What are the men doing on TV? They are having dragon boat races. (教学have dragon boat races) Let’s watch. Ok? What do you think about the dragon boat races? The race is so exciting.
What are the children doing? They are watching dragon boat races excitedly. (教学
watch dragon boat races) What do they eat? They eat rice dumplings. (教学rice dumplings) Why do people eat rice dumplings? Commemorate a famous Chinese poet:
Qu Yuan.
●Mid-Autumn Festival:
What do people do? They look at the moon. The moon is at its brightest and roundest on that day.
What do people eat? They eat moon cakes:

What do people do? They visit their parents and grandparents. Why?

Climb mountains.
What do people eat? They eat rice cakes.
It’s a festival for the old people. Do you often visit your grandparents? What can you do for them? 【设计意图】本环节主要让学生自读课文,通过选择填表的方式了解个节日的活动及人们所吃的美食。由于生字词不多,所以放手让学生自学,从而培养学生的阅读理解能力。在check的时候对每个节日稍作拓展,让学生更多的了解中国传统节日。

Reveal the meanings of Chinese festivals T:Different festivals mean different things. Some mean reunion. People will get together with their families. Some mean love like Double Ninth Festival. We should care and love our families, especially the old people. Some mean commemoration such as Dragon Boat Festival. Some mean longing. We will miss our families and friends who are not with us. 【设计意图】向学生介绍更多的中国传统节日,引导学生深度理解传统节日的意义,帮助大学生了解中国博大精深的传统文化,增强文化凝聚力和民族凝聚力,而且还可以培养大学生敬老爱幼、热爱祖国、勤劳善良、与人为善等的传统美德。
4. Make a poster about one’s favourite festival T: I think you know well about the Chinese festivals. And, what’s your favourite festival? Now, Let’s make a post about our favourite festival. First, talk in your group about your favourite festival and how to make a poster. Then, open the envelope and take out the things you need. Finally, show your poster to us.
【设计意图】本环节为组内合作制作海报,汇报自己最喜欢的节日,一是为了有效激发学生的学习兴趣,有目的的巩固和拓展课堂的语言知识,同时还能提高其美术、设计等综合能力。
选择的来复述某一个节日的有关内容,二是增加学生对中国传统节日的热爱。
