教材分析

本课选自PEP小学英语五年级上册Unit4，属于事故教学，旨在通过故事创设真实的情境，巩固本单元核心语料。本课时的故事主要讲述了蛇和田鼠的一次相遇，聪明挑战田鼠开动脑筋，骗过愚蠢的蛇，从蛇口逃生的经历，是孩子们感兴趣的话题。就语言知识而言，主要涉及I’m hungry./what can you do? I can…等句型。就情感态度价值观和方面而言，要培养学生遇事开动脑筋的好习惯。故事问读教学要突出“讲故事”，特别是要引导学生观察故事中的人、物、环境，通过师生互动共同来理解故事。教学的重点是理解故事，而不是语音、词汇和语法。

学情分析

围绕“话题”进行教学。本课话题为谈论食物特征，利用话题创设真实语境，增强学生在语境中的语言能力。本课时设计力图打破传统的教学流程，体现“整体呈现，分步训练”的故事教学要求。让学生先整体感知，在故事的具体情景中学习、巩固、运用新的语言知识。

教学目标

1、情感目标：通过事故教学，渗透遇事要开动脑筋的精神，通过合作比赛，培养学生的合作意识。

2、知识目标：复习Unit4的单词词组，通过看故事、读故事等方式，让学生理解事故，初步感知本单元核心语料：①I am hungry ②What can you do ? I can…… ③Can you……?

3、能力目标：以话题为线索，通过整体感知语境，看事故跟读、分角色读、齐读等多种方式培养学生的阅读能力。

教学重点和难点

1、能听懂会说Can you……？并回答Yes, I can./No, I can’t

2、初步理解课文（故事）内容。

教学过程：

Step 1: Review

1. Let’s do and sing, What can you do?

学生边听、边唱、边做动作。

2. Review the words and phrases in Unit 4 with the sentences.

T: What can he/she/they do?

Ss: He/ She/ They can …

3. Let’s wrap it up.

1) Review the phrases, play with the. Eg: play the piano, play the pipa, play the violin, play the erhu. 2) Review the phrases, play no the. Eg: play football, play ping-pong, play basketball. 3) Summary: 球类名词前面不用“the”；play football, play basketball, play ping-pong 乐器类名词前面要用“the”play the pipa, play the violin, play the erhu, play the piano 4) Check the answers: Can you play the pipa? Can you play football? 4. Play a game: catch the plane.

There are many planes with words and phrases. Say the words and phrases as soon as possible with the sentence I can….

Step 2: Presentation 1. A riddle. T: I have a riddle for you. 它家住在洞洞里，白天一般不出门，前门后门都不关，狮子豺狼都不怕，只怕“小虎”下了山。(打一动物）Can you guess what animal it is? You can speak in Chinese. T: Yes, it is the rat. It’s cute. I like the little rat. How about you? What is your favourite animal? You can answer with the sentence I like….

2. T: Here is the story. One day, the little rat is picking up the flowers near a lake. Focus on LAKE. a…e pronounced

. Let’s spell these words, ake, cake, make, snake. Suddenly, here comes a hungry snake. What will happen when the hungry snake meets the little rat? Watch the movie and choose the answer. A. The snake eats the rat. B. The rat swims away.

3. Read the story and do the T or F. 4. Listen and imitate.

跟读要求：注意模仿语音、语调，注意强、弱读及停顿。

1) T: Focus on tasty, it means delicous. Thing: th in thank plus ing/ in sing makes thing/. Throw: th// in thank plus row// in tomorrow makes throw//.

Step 3: Practise Retell and act out the story. 根据老师所提供的词汇进行复述，表演。可以适当删减或添加。

Why can’t the snake eat the rat? 2. We can name the tittle of the story, The clever rat. 3.

If you are in danger(陷入危境), what can you do? 1).We should keep calm(保持冷静). Don’t be afraid.

2).Try to look for help and run away. 3).Call 110 or call your parents and teachers. Step 5: Homework 1. Retell the story in English to your friends in English.（用英文讲这个故事给朋友听）
