教材分析

本课选自Pep英语五年级下册第四单元的读写部分。整个单元分为五课时进

行，第一课时为Talk A & Learn A，

第二课时为Talk B & Learn B，第三课时Let’s spell，第四课时read and write.

第五课时为let’s check & story time. 本课时为读写课，其内容为读懂Sarah日记的内容并能够独自完成观察日记的英文书写。

学情分析

五年级的学生有一定的观察能力，在我校的科学课上学生做过观察植物生长

的实验，所以本课内容很贴近生活，孩子们会很感兴趣。我校从三年级开设英语课，对于写作五年级的同学并不陌生，他们有一定的英文基础，对于陌生单词可以很快的拼读出来，但根据上下文猜测词意能力有些欠缺，同时，在五年级有两极分化的现象，所以，在设置课程环节要充分综合考虑。

教学目标

1.知识与技能：能够理解日记中出现的kitten, diary, still, fur, noises的意思，能够按照意群朗读短文，可以在提示下复述短文，根据图片描述生长过程。

2.过程与方法：情景法，小组合作，阅读与写作

3.情感态度价值观：引导孩子细心观察身边的事物，感受生活的美好。

教学重难点

教学重点：读懂短文含义。

教学难点：复述短文，用英语写观察日记

教学过程

Ⅰ. Warm-up 1.

Sing a song. < the twelve months> 2.

Ask and answer: what’s the third month? What do we have in…?

Ⅱ. Presentation T: We can see Children’s Day, Mother’s Day and so on. I think they are special days. Do you think so? Ss: Read the word “special”

T: in our school, we have some special pictures. See.. Ss: Watch the picture and guess “ what are they? “

T: The plants grow up from a bean. The first day,

the second day and the third day, they are different.

We write the changes in the diary.

Ss: Read the word” diary”

T: Do you have a diary? Can you write a diary in English? Ss: Yes \ No. T. Our friend Sarah likes to writing a diary, too. Let’s look at the diary and guess” what’s the diary about?”

Ss: Guess the diary’s content.

T: let’s listen. The diary is about two kittens.

Kitten means little cat. We call little dog—puppy.

Little pig—piggy. Look at these two kittens.

Four students a group, talk about” What are they like? And guess “what can they do?”

Ss: talk about” What are they like? And guess “what can they do?”

T: can you guess the order? Ss: Guess the order. T: Why the right order is like this? After reading,

we’ll know it. Please read the diary by yourself

and underline the words you can’t understand.

Ss: Read and underline.

T: Any questions? 1. Still 2. Make noises 3. White fur

Ss: read and understand the new words. T: Let’s look at the first diary. I have some questions for you.

Ss: Discuss the answer. T: Circle the right words. We have finished the first diary. We still have three diaries. Please read them in pairs and finish the mind- map. Ss: Finish the mind-map. T: Can you write a diary now? How to write a diary?

First ,read the first sentence, Ss: Read the diary sentence by sentence and think

“ what’s the sentence about?”

T: Age, feature and the skills. Ss: Try to retell the diary. T: writing time. I have 2 tasks.

1. Write more diaries about the two kittens.

2.What will happened about these two kittens? Ss: Write the diary by yourself. T: We can observe so many things.

Chicken, garlic, butterfly and yourself.

So write an observing diary is a good habit for you.

You can find the life is colorful. Ss: Write down the homework.
