Unit 2 In the circus
一、单元分析
本单元围绕“马戏团动物”的主题涵盖有关“来”和“去”的课堂指令和表达句式;涉及有关大小、颜色描述的句型It’s big and brown.;且围绕语言的综合运用出现了猜谜的游戏等。通过本单元的学习,学生能够根据所学句型给出他人“来”和“去”的指令,应该清晰准确的听、说、认读本单元6个动物单词,并能够用已知词汇描述动物,创编谜语。
二、教学设计
Lesson 1 Let’s learn & Let’s enjoy
Class profile
The students have already learned the animals in Unit1. Some of them are familiar with the zoo animal words so the words are not very hard for them to remember. It might be a little hard for them to describe these animals with the pattern “It’s ... and...”
Contents horse, bear, elephant, panda, monkey, tiger Let’s enjoy-song Aims To listen, speak and read the six new words in this lesson and apply these news words to sentences. To sing the song on P11 and understand the meaning of the lyric. Key points and difficulties

Teaching Procedures 1.
Warm up (1)
Greetings. (2)
T plays the song on P11 and ss listen and try to follow. 2.
Presentation (1)
T shows the picture on P8 and asks ss what do they see on the picture. Ss may say they can see the tiger, panda and so on.

Then T asks ss where can they see animals and ss may say in the zoo. T tells ss not only in the zoo but also in the forest or circus they can see animals. T writes down the title and leads ss to read the title. (3)
T tells ss today they are going to visit a circus and in the circus there are six animals. T has the photos of these animals and has numbered these photos. Ss can choose one of them and then T will show the photo and introduce the animal. The photos from A to No F are horse, bear, elephant, panda, monkey, tiger in order. (4)
Ss choose on photo and T enlarges the photo. T will leads ss to listen and repeat the animal words and writes down them. And then T leads ss to observe the animal and tell what color and size is it in order to leads ss to practice describing these animals with pattern “Look at the ... It’s ... and ...”

Practice (1)
Listen and guess. T shows all photos and describe one on them and ss guess what the animal is. (2)
Listen and number. T plays the audio and ss listen and number the words they hear on P9. (3)
say and get the points. T shows a table on which there are many pictures of these animals and behind each of them hiding a secret point and ss say the words in the pattern “Look at the...” correctly will get the point for their team. (4)
T shows the animals photos respectively and ss look at the picture and try to describe the animal they see getting a point.
