Lesson 19 一、

教材分析

本单元是关于月份的主题，所以掌握好月份的表达是本单元的一个重点。19课在第四单元学习中有至关重要的地位，三个单课月份语篇教学，三个双课，巩固拓展，19课有着导入四五两个单元内容学习的重要作用。新课标提出要在英语教学中渗透文化交际意识，弘扬爱国主义精神。本课书的编写紧扣课标，使学生通过学习一二月份中国的传统节日，深入了解和回味中国的传统习俗，是英语课上进行中国传统文化教育的一个良好契机，引导学生热爱中国的传统习俗。

学情分析

对于六年级学生来说，本课教学内容以体验、理解、表达为最终目标，因此学生学起来有一定的难度。但是，本课话题是谈论元旦和春节的节日生活，这与学生的实际生活紧密相关，学生比较熟悉且有兴趣，有助于联想实际理解课文。所以，教师应在课堂上设计丰富多彩的情境，培养学生的语用交际能力。

教学目标：

知识与技能目标：

1.能听、说、认读单词“January”、“February”、“New Year’s Day”“Spring Festival”等单词。

2.能听、说、认读句子“January is the first month of the year.”和“February is the second month of the year.”

过程与方法目标：使同学根据关键词跟图片对课文进行复述，培养学

生听说读及英语表达能力，调动学生说英语的积极性。

情感态度与价值观目标：引导学生热爱中国的传统民俗，培养学生在英语学习中的合作意识。

1.熟练掌握单词：“January”、“February”、“New Year’s Day”“Spring Festival”等单词。

2.理解并掌握句型：January is the first month of the year. February is the second month of the year. 难点：1.序数词的表达。

六、教学过程

Step 1：Warming—Up 1.

Guess the number！

出现“7”、“12”、“365”这几个数字，猜与它相关的英文单词。

进而提问“How many days are there in a week？”

“What’s the first day of the week？”

“How many days are there in a year？”

“How many months are there are there in a year？”

引出“There are twelve months in a year.”、

提问“What’s the first month of the year？”引出“January is the first

month of the year.=The first month is called January”

（设计意图：高年级学生有一定的英语基础，Free-talk的形式更符合六年级的学生，利用已知引出新知“January”和“February”以及“is called”的用法。）

Step 2. Presentation 1.

T：What festival is in January？引出“New Year’s Day”。

T: When is New Year’s Day？学生通过看日历，引出“It’s on January 1st.”利用日历让学生理解“January 1st.”的意思，并引出文中语句“January 1st is called New Year’s Day.”。

（设计意图：突出重难点，强调日期的表达方式。）

T：New Year’s Day is a happy Day. What do people do on New Year’s Day？引出短语“have a holiday”“celebrate…”

4.

以图片形式介绍各国如何过新年

（设计意图：拓展学生的课外知识，培养学生的跨文化意识。）

5.

对文本的细节进行讲解后，再次让学生带着问题去复述文本，从而检验学生对文本的理解。

（设计意图：对段落中的细节内容进行讲解后，再次让学生带着问题去阅读文本，回归文本，通过回答问题的方式来检验学生对文本的理解，进行反馈。）

6.通过提问“What’s the second month of the year？”，引出“February is the second month of the year.”

7.观看有关春节元素的小视频，引出“Spring Festival”。

8.Ask some questions：

When is Spring Festival？引出本课重点单词“February”

What do people call Spring Festival now? 引出“Chinese New Year”

What do people do at Spring Festival? 引出短语“go back home”、“celebrate ...with...”。

（设计意图：阅读文本并且提出思考问题，让学生有目的的去阅读，促进学生阅读意识的形成。）

9.T：The most important time is the eve of the festival.

What do people do on the eve of Spring Festival? 利用中国地图，让学生理解“north”“south”的意思，让学生清楚了解中国南北方人的饮食习惯。

（设计意图：阅读文本并提出思考问题，让学生有目的地去阅读，促进学生阅读意识的形成。）

进而与学生自由交流“What do you do on the eve of the festival？”
