Unit 4 When is Easter? Part C

Story time Ⅰ.Analysis of teaching contents：

Unit 4 is related to Unit 3, which mainly teach the expressions of time. Unit 3 teaches the content of months, such as January, February.... And Unite 4’s main topic is about some festivals and the main arrangements in some days. But the most important points in this unit is about the Ordinal Numeral and the expressions of the day in a month.

This period mainly teaches Unit 4 Part C. In Part C, there is only a story that an singing test Zoom need to prepare for will be on May 4th. And this story is divided into six pictures. students can practise the ability of reading and English thinking. Besides, this story is expand the content in Part A and Part B. Ⅱ.Analysis of students.

In Unit 3,students basically grasped the expressions of months and learned the expressions of Ordinal numeral. So there are just a few new words for students , which may be a little difficult for them. Ⅲ.Teaching Aims: (1)

.Knowledge aims：

students can understand the main ideas in this story, and know some fixed expressions. (2)

. Ability aims: students can read this story and can grasp the main idea. (3)

. students can understand ‘ Practice makes perfect ’. and ‘ if you work hard , you can make it ’.

Ⅳ.Teaching important and difficult points (1)

. students can read and find the main ideas of the story. (2). There are several new words, which may be a little difficult for students. Ⅴ.Teaching aids:

students looks at the video about the story for twice. And then, teacher read with the story with students together to be familiar with the words or sentences in this story. Then,students may know what

this story tells about. So teacher gives students a chart to fill in, which need students to list the time ,figures and what happens in each picture（there is a chart for you about what happens in this story, you can know when, who , what and the answers. If you have any questions, you can ask me, or discuss with your classmates.）.

when students finish this chart, teacher and students can fill in the chat together in PPT.

After students understand the main ideas. teacher and students can learn each picture in details,and know what happens in each one. 3.

There’s a summary to fill in blanks. After watching the video twice and read the story in details. students also mainly know what the story talks about. So it’s easy to finish it. Then, students and T can fill in the summary together. There are also several pictures and phrases in PPT, teacher and students can preview the content in this story through the pictures and phrases. Step 3. Practice ＆

Consolidation

students can read the story by themselves and make the content in each pictures form the whole story and practise their reading. And then invite someone to read it. 2.

There are several sentences need students to fill in with their knowledge, which can preview the content learned in Unit 4.

Step 4. Summary

This class, we learn a story about Zoom, there is a singing test will be on May 4th, but Zoom can’t sing well, so he need more practice, he can’t come to the party, play football, and watch TV. At last, he gets teacher’s praise. According to this story, we know ‘practice makes perfect’, and ‘ try, and work hard, you can make it ’.

In this class, students learned Unit 4 Part C the story time, which tells a story about Zoom prepares for his singing test. In this class, I can’t have much communication with students, and there are less writing in the blackboard. Besides, the time may be a little long for students. In the next class, I will correct them.
