Ⅰ.Teaching Aims:
Knowledge aims: 1.Students will be able to aurally understand, orally use, recognize and spell the following new vocabulary: well, class 2.Students will be able to recognize, understand and use the construction:Where are you from? What subjects do you have in your school? How many classes do you have each school day?
Ability aims: By the end of the lesson, the students should be able to: 1.Get to know the meaning of “What subjects do you have in your school? /How many classes do you have each school day?” both in spoken and written forms, and pronounce it clearly. 2.Use structures like “ What subjects do you have in your school?” “How many classes do you have each school day?”to talk about subjects and classes in English. Emotional attitudes and values: Cultivate students to communicate friendly with his/her classmates and learn to introduce his/her school life.
Ⅱ.Focus of the lesson:
1.The right pronunciation of the words: well, class. 2.Read the structures with the right pronunciation, intonation and sentence stress. “What subjects do you have in your school?; How many classes do you have each school day?” . Ⅲ.Predicted area of difficulty: 1.

Warming-up T: Let’s play a game “Guess! Guess! Guess!”. Boys and girls, look. What country is it?(给学生出示一张有关于国家的卡片,但图片的一部分被遮住了,让学生通过未遮住的部分猜一猜卡片上是什么国家。)
S: It’s China.
T: Good ,next one, what country is it? S: It’s Canada.
T :Look, what country is it? S: It’s Australia.
T: Very good, What country is it?
S: It’s the U.S(设计意图:开始设计这个游戏环节,吸引了学生的注意力并且调动了学生学习的积极性。教师由这个环节,自然过渡到新授环节,复习本节课学生需要用到的词汇。)

Teach students “Where are you from?”(教师板书“Where are you from?”)Let students say this sentence one by one.

S:She is Jenny. T: Where is she from? Who can answer? S: She is from Canada. T:Very good! Let read together! T:(ppt)look, who is he? S: He is LiMing. T:(PPT)Who can ask?(试着让学生说出问句并回答,把课堂教给学生,尽量让学生多说,多练。)
S: Where is he from? T:You are so clever. Who can answer? S:He is from China.(课本上的句型是第二人称,师让学生试着用第三人称提问和回答,让学生体会第三人称的变化。)
T:Look,what are they? S:They are pandas. T:Who can ask? S:Where are pandas from? T: Good job!Who can answer? S:They are from China. T:Look, what are they? S:They are kangaroos. T:Excellent! Who can answer? S:They are from Australia.(此处教师设计复数变化形式,让学生灵活运用此句型,体会复数形式的变化。)

T: She also wants to know “How many classes do you have each school day? Do you know “class”? Look, this is a schedule on Tuesday. The first class is math. The second class is Chinese. The third class is English. Do you know it? Yes, very good! Now, read after me “class”, “classes”.
