Unit 5 Do you like pears? Teaching contents:Section A Teaching aims :

-Do you like…?
-Yes, I do. / No, I don’t. Learning situation analysis: As is known to all, fruits are our daily necessity. So they are very familiar to the pupils. And pupils could be so curious that they are eager to know how to talk about fruits in English. Teaching important and difficult points: 1. Make students read and spell the new words. 2. Make students grasp and use the new expressions. Teaching aids:PPT, word pictures
Teaching steps:
Step 1. Warming-up (1) Greetings (ppt1) (2) Enjoy a song.
---- Apple Tree (ppt2) Listen carefully and follow to sing.
(Which fruit do you hear?) (ppt3)
(3) Show the evaluation Let’s have a match. To divide students into four groups. The first group is Apple; The second group is Pear; The third group is Strawberry; The fourth group is Grape. At last, the teacher will give the group which is the best a crown. (Show the pictures on the board.) (4) Pay attention to the teaching aims. (ppt4) Step 2. Presentation----Can you speak? (ppt5)
(1) To ask students to read the words together. (2) To ask students to read the words one by one. apple—apples
orange—oranges
pear—pears
banana—bananas watermelon—watermelons
strawberry—strawberries
grape—grapes
(3) The teacher will stress strawberry—strawberries (ppt6-12) Step 3. Practice---Read and match (ppt13) To call someone to match and spell the words.(Give someone a small prize. And have an evaluation in the groups.)
Step 4. Can you say? (ppt14) We learned so many fruits, I want to tell you “I like apples, and I don’t like oranges.” Who wants to tell me which fruit you like or don’t like?(Give someone a small prize. And have an evaluation in the groups.)
Step 5. Can you talk? (ppt15) I don’t know if you like this fruit, I can ask you “Do you like apples?” If you like this fruit, you can answer me “Yes, I do.” If you don’t like this fruit, you can answer me “No, I don’t.”
To call someone answer my questions, and put up pictures on the board. (Give someone a small prize. And have an evaluation in the groups.)
Part 6. Pair work (ppt16) Take out your pictures about fruits, and practice the small dialogues with your partner. Then call someone to come to the front of the classroom and act out the dialogues. (Give someone a small prize. And have an evaluation in the groups.)

Part 9. Homework (ppt18) (1) Try to read the seven words about fruits and teach your parents to express them in English. (2) Use the sentence structure “Do you like apples/pears…? to ask others.
