Studying Goals：

1．To enable Ss to learn how to write a film review．

2．To help Ss learn how to talk about the United Nations peacekeepers．

3．To enable Ss to say their feelings about war．

Teaching Procedures：

Step 1．Revision: Check Ss’homework and give them some instruction．

Step 2．Reading and Writing Purpose：To help Ss to learn how to write a film review．

1.Leading-in

Show some facts and let Ss guess the name of the film．

(1)It is a film which was directed by Stephen Spielberg (2)It is an anti—war film．

(3)The two main characters are Captain John Miller，played by Tom Hanks，and Private James Ryan，played by Matt Damon．

Read the passage and match the two parts．

For your reference：

Step 1：Begin with the information about the film，for example，the name of the film，the director，the actors／actress，etc．

Step 3：Present your opinion of the movie and give reasons for it．

4．1ndividual work

Ask Ss to choose one of their familiar film and try to make out a draft of a film review．

One possible version：

Kung fu artist Wu Jing both starred in and directed the action movie. The film focuses on a rescue operation in Africa, led by former special forces soldier Leng Feng – played by Wu. Leng helps Chinese workers and local Africans flee a

war-torn and plague-ravaged country. My deep impression is that Chinese government protect overseas Chinese citizens. Wolf Warrior II links art to reality,and reminds people of the massive evacuation of Chinese people .ust as the message at the end of the film reads: “Citizens of the People’s Republic of China. When you encounter danger in a foreign land, do not give up! Please remember, at your back stands a strong motherland.”
