Unit 2 Animals at the Zoo

Show the pictures about animals and ask the following questions: 课堂导入

What is it/ this/ that? How many? Look at the pictures on the book.

What can you see in the pictures? Count the number.

Step1.Class opening and review. Ⅰ.Sing the song.

Ⅱ.Review the numbers one to ten and say them one by one. Go randomly through the numbers from top to bottom, bottom to top.

Ⅲ.Review the words about animals and ask: “What is this /that/it? How many?”

Step 2.How many monkeys? Ⅰ.Open the book and look at the pictures for part one. Ask: “What can you see in the pictures?”

They may say: river, trees, the sky, fish, ducks, pandas, monkeys and birds. Ⅱ.Teacher asks: How many birds/ monkeys/ pandas/ ducks/ fish are there? Play the audiovisual and follow along with the text. Then ask the students to follow along while you read the text to them. Let some volunteers to read it. Ⅲ.Work in pairs. Let the students ask and answer: How many… are there? There are ____. Then practice by using things in the classroom. How many books/ pens/ girls are there? There are ____. Step 3.Let's chant. Look at Part 2. Go over the text and pictures with the whole class. Read each number and the text aloud. Then, play the audiotape twice and listen closely for fun. Teach the students how to say the chant. Explain the words: wolves, alive, trick, heaven, mat. Play the audiotape and let them chant and clap aloud.

Ask the students to put themselves into groups of 1 to 10. This will take some time, but it will be fun, and get the students engaged in the 巩固练习
