二．设计思路: 《新课程标准》二级教学总体目标要求学生能借助图片读懂简单的故事或小短文。这就是要求学生通过能阅读文章达到理解的程度，包括对故事主要内容的理解、主要人物的理解、故事情节的理解。

本课通过谈论The Trees Planting Day植树节，根据学生已有知识，通过限时阅读活动初步了解与整体感知文章主题，围绕设置的问题去文中寻找问题的关键信息，从植树节When、Who started、Where、Why to start、what to do 等方面去对比完成文章信息的归纳，帮助梳理植树节的来历，还拓展了其他国家的植树节的日期，最后自然的过渡到描述学生自己在上一个植树节的活动。

三. 教学目标：

1. 能理解文章大意；

2. 能通过阅读从文章中获取和处理关于植树节来历的主要信息；

3. 能口头描述自己在上一个植树节的活动；

4. 了解其他国家植树节的日期。

5. 情感教育：植树护树，享受自然绿色生活

Teaching Procedure Step 1 Pre-reading Talk about the date and some activities of the Tree Planting Day Tell about how to plant a tree. Step 2 While-reading 1.

Read and choose what the text is about. 2.

Read the passage about the Tree Planting Day and answer the questions -- Read the passage, ask and answer two questions; -- Let students know about J. Sterling Morton. -- Read the passage and underline the key words according to the questions; -- Ask and answer the questions in pairs. 3.

Read the passage about Tree Planting Day and fill in the form. 4.

Explain the phrase “take care of ” to tell we should take care of the trees and look after ourselves and family carefully. 5.

Listen and read the passage. 6.

Find out the key words of how the Tree Planting Day started in the table.

Talk about: What can trees do? What can we do?

8.

Tell that we can plant more trees and enjoy green life. Step 3 Post-reading

1. Talk about the Tree Planting Day of other countries. 2. Watch a video about the Tree Planting Day and match the date.

3. Ask and answer “ My last Tree Planting Day” and share with classmates.

1. Write “ My last Tree Planting Day” and share with friends. 2.Do Ex. 2 on Page 65.
