一、教学内容分析

本文选自人教版高中英语选修十一第四单元“古希腊神话”其中阅读部分“What has happened to Odysseus”主要描述了以Telemachus寻找父亲的征程为主线的神话故事，具体设计故事发生背景信息、与女神雅典娜，及母亲Penelope的对话，以及在踏上寻父之旅的途中两次重要拜访：独眼巨人Cyclops和神女Circe。本节课文是阅读课，在本单元的英语教学中起着重要作用。

二、学情分析

本节课的授课对象是高二学生，已经具备了一定的知识基础，思维活跃，主动意识和参与感强。但从跨文化交际的文化差异层面来讲，学生对西方文学的知识积累欠缺，所以参与的客观背景是一大制约。但“希腊神话”这个话题容易激发学习兴趣。

三、教学目标

经过本堂课的学习，学生能够：

1、了解希腊文学

2、提高阅读能力----提取语篇大意，梳理文章结构，归纳文中相关信息等。

3、激发英语学习兴趣，进而培养学生自主探究和合作学习能力，表达自身态度、情感和价值观。

4、通过变换角度来对人物进行深入分析和判断。

四、教学重点、难点分析
