Problems and advice Reading: What should I do? (1.5 periods) Cognitive Objective:

To learn about some students’

problems by reading three excerpts from their letters to the school counselor asking for advice. Skills Objective:

To practise students’ skimming for main ideas and scanning for specific details. To practice students’ speaking on a given topic.

Affective Objective:

To help students learn that it is natural for everyone to sometimes have problems in life and need to consult someone else for advice.

Procedures: I. Lead-in:
