2.difficult points: the identification and use of “there is” and “there are”.

四. teaching aids: 1.power points 2.flash cards 五.teaching procedures step 1: warm-up: Greetings/ song-singing step 2: words-review show students a picture of park and ask students to close their eyes and imagine that they are in the park. And teacher asks them: “ What can you see in the park?”

then open their eyes to answer: I can see a boat…

I can see trees…

step3:reviewing the sentence pettern show the students a picture of park ask the students to say sentences following the teacher: 1:There is a dog in the park. 2:There are birds in the park.

Step 4: distinguish “there is...” “there are...”

1. ask students to choose “there is or there are”.

2.guide students to make the sentences. There is a tree. There is a flower. There is a lake. There is a boat . There is a hill.

Step 5:

let's practise 1: who’s she?/who’s he ?

2:how many pencils are there? 3.where is the pencil? 4.where is the ruler? …

Then play the tape and give students time to feel the sentence and ask them to repeat. Then show them pictures of supermarket and zoo.

There are bananas. There are pears. Step 6: build your park 1.Ask students to draw a picture of a park and add the things they likein the park. 2.share their parks with classmates. Step 7: demonstration students introduce their parks to classmates. Step 7: homework add words for your park.
