Analyze the teaching material: Unit 3: My Friends Part A Let’s learn talks about friends and some adjectives describing their friends. Students can learn to talk about their friends in English. Analyze the students: The students have learned English for a year. They can listen, speak some simple words and sentences.

Teaching aims:

Teaching process: Step 1：Warm up and lead-in Warm up：After greeting the students, teacher plays an English song called “The more we get together” to students to arouse the students’ interest in this class and know the topic of this unit. Lead-in: Teacher divides the students into two groups: boys and girls. Each time a student gets a right answer will get one point for his or her group. At the end of the class, we will see who are the winners.

Step 2: Presentation Words teaching: Word: tall

teacher shows a picture of Yaoming and asks students to guess who he is. Then teacher teaches the word “tall” to students.

teacher shows a picture of Tutu and asks students to guess who he is. Then teacher teaches the word “short” to students.

Game: Wooden Child. Word: thin

teacher shows a picture of Elsa and asks students to guess who she is. Then teacher teaches the word “thin” to students.

Game: Magic hand. Word: strong

teacher shows a picture of superman and asks students to guess who he is. Then teacher teaches the word “strong” to students.

Chant: strong, strong, He is strong. Word: quiet

teacher shows a picture of Chen Jie and asks students to guess who she is. Then teacher teaches the word “quiet” to students.

Game: Opposite Tune. Word: friendly

teacher shows a picture of Amy and asks students to guess who she is. Then teacher teaches the word “friendly” to students.

Game: Hide and See. Step 3: Consolidation Game 1: Each time teacher points out a student in the class and asks the rest students:“What’s his/her name?”The students answer:“His/Her name

is...”

Exercises: there are two exercises on PPT. Game 2: paint your friends One student chooses a paper and read out the sentences on it, the rest students paint the friend the student is talking about.

Step 4: Extension and homework Extension: share some sayings about friends to student. Homework: ask students to paint his or her friends and introduce them to their partners. Blackboard design:
