Module 1 Lost and found Unit 2 Are they yours? I.

Teaching objectives：

By the end of the lesson, the students should be able to: 1.

understand the reading material about the Lost and Found Office in New York. 2.

read the passage and grasp the general ideas 3.

learn some key words and useful expressions 4.

learn to express what belongs to whom II.

To learn the reading skills and to learn to write with the key words and the key structures. 2.

To learn to write with the Possessive Pronouns correctly. III.

Teaching method: Bottom-up approach

Teaching procedures: Step1: Warm-up and lead-in First, greetings between teachers and students and then review the words and expressions of unit 1. Second, show some pictures and have the students learn new words and expressions. Step 2: Passage learning

Before reading: Teacher show a picture about the idea of the passage and make students complete the sentences of activity 1. 2.

While reading: Teacher let the students read the title of passage and scan the passage first, and then let them finish the activity2. 3.

Post reading: Teacher let students read the passage carefully and then complete the sentences of activity3. Step3:Language points 1.

People often lose things when they’re travelling or when they’re in a

hurry. (人们在旅行中或是匆忙中经常丢东西。) in a hurry 意思是“匆匆忙忙”

(She write a letter in a hurry. ) (be) in no hurry意思是

“不急于；不忙于

She’s in no hurry to leave here.

2.That’s why there are lost and found offices at airports and stations.

(这就是在机场和火车站有失物招领办公室的原因。) that’s why 表示“是……的原因”，常用于句首，后面跟的是结果。如：

We make a plan for this year. That’s why we work hard every day.

3. Hundreds of people come here every day.

(每天都有成百上千人到这里来。)

hundred是一个确数, 表示“一百”。当hundred前面有具体数字时, 要用单数形式, 但它后面跟of 时, 要用复数形式hundreds of，同时其前面不能再加具体数字。△thousand, million也有此类似的用法。
