本单元的教学任务围绕Shapes这个主题展开，学习一些有关形状的新单词：circle, square，triangle, star, rectangle，在教学新单词的同时，注重调用多种句型让学生在相应的情景中习得语言，运用语言。通过语境将新旧知识融合在一起，培养学生的阅读理解能力和语言交际能力。通过儿歌的学习，掌握句型...be like的表达，最后的语音学习中，使学生能了解字母组-ff的发音。

根据学生已具备的语言知识和语言技能，结合学生的生活常识，期望通过本单元的教学后，学生能准确认读circle, square，triangle, star, rectangle，house等这几个单词。运用What is it? What shape is it? How many stars are there?等问句询问对方，并能用It's... There is/ are...等做出正确的回答。通过儿歌，老歌新唱，问答，表演等形式激发学生的学习兴趣，在情景中进一步理解和运用所学单词和句型，并逐步完成由听说到读写的教学任务。
