Step1. Pre-reading Free talking: Where are you from? What are you/they good at?

Step 2. While- reading 1.

Look at the picture! Guess! Where are they from? Read the text by yourselves, then answer the question. 2.

What are they good at? Read the text again, underline the key words, then answer the question. (Draw the simple pictures and write the key words.) 3.

Looking at the key words, students retell together, then try to retell by themselves, then call sb. to retell.

Step 3. Post-reading We are all Chinese! We are a big family. There are 56 ethnic groups in our country. Teacher shows a picture, and describe it like this: Look! Where are they from? What are they good at? Then call sb. to describe the picture.

Step 4. Homework What ethnic groups do you know? Where are they from? What are they good at? Find out ,and write down.
