Lesson 19 Christmas is coming ! 一.教学目标
1 知识目标:
(1)使学生掌握有关圣诞节的四会单词: Christmas , Christmas tree,
lights, Santa,
holiday. (2)使学生能够自己组织语言正确描述有关圣诞节的知识: What’s Christmas?
Why is it special? What do people do on Christmas? 2能力目标:
了解Christmas 的时间,风俗习惯,并且会用语言明确表达出来。
3情感目标:使学生了解有关西方国家最盛大的节日---- 圣诞节,培养学生乐于了解和学习说英语国家的一些文化背景,培养学生的跨文化意识。

四会掌握Christmas tree, Christmas lights, Santa 等词组和单词。

让学生自己组织语言对有关圣诞节的一些事情的描述。

导入新知:
(一)从四个节日引入新授单词holidays T: How’s the weather today ?
What season is it ?
I n winter , there is an important holiday , do you know what it is ? 引入课题Lesson 19 Christmas is coming ! Now, class. Please look at the pictures. What are they? Do you know? (课件依次呈现三个节日的图片和单词:Children’s Day, National Day, the Spring Festival, )
T: They are all holidays. Holiday, do you know? Can you guess? (教师利用单词卡片领读并拼读单词holiday) T: Do you know some other holidays? (二)学习单词Christmas T: Look at the picture, this is another holiday. Do you know? T: Yes, it’s Christmas.
(教师利用单词卡片领读并拼读单词Christmas) T: Today, we’ll learn a new lesson. Lesson 19: Christmas Is Coming. This is the first lesson of Unit 4. In this unit, we’ll learn something about Christmas.
Do you know something about Christmas? You can say it in Chinese. (三)学习Christmas tree, Christmas lights, Santa, special. T: Class . Look, what are they? Do you know?
(课件出示Christmas tree, Christmas lights, Santa, 教师利用单词卡片领读并拼读单词)
(在学习单词的过程中,可适当提问:Is the Christmas tree beautiful? Where are the Christmas lights? What colour are the Santa’s clothes? What do we say on Christmas? What’s in Santa’s bag? 引出gift, 并用实物展示This is a gift .等等。)
T: We have Christmas trees, Christmas lights and Santa on Christmas. So, Christmas is special. Special, can you guess? What’s the meaning?
(四)听、读课文第一部分,并讨论,回答问题
T: Now, please listen to the audiotape carefully. During listening, please think about the 3 questions: 1 What’s Christmas?
2 Why is Christmas special? 3 Who is Santa? (采取听-----跟读----讨论回答问题的步骤) 教师出示幻灯片,学生根据学到的内容填空。
(五)学习第二部分:
T: Now, Let’s go on to learn the second part of this lesson. First look at your books, try to find out the new words that you don’t understand.
T: You can learn this part by yourselves. Try to find the answer to this question: What do people do on Christmas? T: Let’s listen and read.
三、Sing a song and do some exercise 1. Sing a Christmas song 2. do the exercise in Part 2 and check the answers . 3. 为了帮助学生总结和归纳本课中的重点,让学生自己做老师提前发下去的预习单。
四、Summary
总结本课重点词句,总结六个小组中哪个小组获得最多的圣诞彩灯,送给该小组每个同学一个礼物。
五、Homework: Draw a picture about Christmas then tell your friend about it.
