Teaching Procedures Step 1. Warm-up/ Revision 1.

Teach the word “kitten”. Your Design

T: Sarah’s cat has two kittens. She writes a diary about the two kittens . (Know the meaning of the word “diary”.) T: Let’s read the diary and know something about the two kittens. 2.Pre-reading Fast read: Read the passage quickly, then put the pictures in order. 3.While-reading Paragraph One (1)Listen to the paragraph. Learn the new words:kitten, pink, young, still. (2)Read the paragraph and answer the questions: a.When is the kittens' birthday? b.Why are they pink? c.Can they see? Paragraph Two (1)Listen to the paragraph. Learn the new phrase and words:make noise, hungry, fur. (2)Read the paragraph and answer the questions: a.How old are they? b.When they are hungry, they will__________. c.They have ____fur now. d.Can they see now? Paragraph Three (1)Listen to the paragraph. Learn the new word:open. (2)Read the paragraph and answer the questions: a.How old are the kittens? b.Can they see? c.What colour are their eyes? Paragraph Four (1)Listen to the paragraph. Learn the new word:walk, play with. (2)Read the paragraph and answer the questions: a.When can they walk? b.What can the kittens do? 4.Post-reading (1)Read the passage sentence by sentence.

(2)Answer the questions: a.When are their eyes open?(On April 26th.) b.When do they have white fur?(On April 21st.) c.When can they walk?(On May 3rd.) (3)Show the different date in the passage, let students answer the difference on each date. (4)Read and match Write the two sentences about the kittens. (5)Can you write more? Take out three pictures about the two kittens, and write more sentences.
