Pre-task preparation

1. Look at the pictures and say what they are. To review and elicit the new teaching. While-task procedure

1. Introduce: farm

This is Old MacDonald’s farm.

(What’s Old MacDonald?) He’s a farmer.

Introduce: farmer 2. Sing a song.

Ask: What animals has Old MacDonald got? How many ducks / cows…?

3. Read and write. 4. Play the cassette and have the students sing along (Look at page 36) This is Old Mac Donald’s farm. Write farm on the board. 5. Put a tick for a true statement and a cross for a false statement when they listen to the song again. 6. Play the cassette again. Listen and decide whether the statements are true or not. 1. Divide the class into six groups. Have each groups sing for the part of a particular animal. 2. Groups of students take turn s to stand up. Sing and act without

the cassette. 3. Look at the pictures in ‘Read and tick’.

Ask : What animals can you see? To elicit : I can see horses. To warm-up. To review and elicit the new teaching. While-task procedure
