Listen to the song seasons

T: After listening the song, how many seasons are there in a year?

Ss: ...

T: Yes, there are four seasons in a year. But how many months are there in a year? Do you know?

Ss: ...

T: Look! I have many number cards. Please say the numbers quickly! Ss: One, Two, ...

T: What is it?

Ss: Twelve.

T: Good! This is twelve. And there are twelve months in a year. Do you know the names of the months? Today we'll learn them.

New Knowledge

T: Look! What season is it?

Ss: It's spring.

T: Which months are in spring?

Ss: March, April and May.

T: Look! What season is it?

Ss: It's winter.

T: Yes. You're right. Which months are in winter? Do you know?

Ss: 12月,1月和2月。

T: Yes. Look! Christmas Day is coming. Do you know which month it is in?

Ss: 12月.

T: Yes. It's in December. Christmas Day is in December.

T: New Year's Day is coming, too. Do you know which month it is in? Ss: 1月.

T: Yes. It's in January. New Year's Day is in January.

T: Then comes the Chinese New Year. Do you know which month it is in?

Ss: January or 2月.

T: Yes. It's in January or February. Sometimes, the Chinese New Year is in January.

Sometimes it is in February.

T: Which season is after winter?

Ss: It's spring.

T: Which season comes after spring, then?

Ss: It's summer.

T: Which months are in summer? Do you know? Look! This is Children's Day. Do you know the month?

Ss: 6月.

T: Yes. It's June. Children's Day is in June.

T: Summer is hot, so we don't go to school in July and August. July and August are for summer holiday. Besides, the Party's Day is in July. And Army Day is in August.

T: We start a new school year in this month. And Teachers' Day is in this month, too. What month is it? Do you know?

Ss: 9月.

T: Yes. It's in September. September is the beginning of our new school year.

T: Our country's birthday is in this month. And we have a seven-day holiday. Do you know the month?

Ss: 10月.

T: Yes. It's October. Our National Day is in October.

T: Then what is the month after October?

Ss: 11月.

T: Yes. It's the eleventh month, November. Thanksgiving Day is in November.
