教材分析

本课系牛津教材高一上册第二单元的拓展阅读部分The Nobel Prize，课文从以下三个方面简要介绍诺贝尔奖：诺贝尔奖的创始人、创设该奖项的目的意义、颁奖时间地点、奖品及颁奖盛况。文章篇幅不长，结构清楚，文章理解难度不大，但是生词偏多，学生流利朗读词汇有一定难度。所以本节课的重点是在整体理解的基础上，让运用目标词汇复述颁奖盛况，通过理解课文和补充材料，理解和运用重点词语。

学情分析

本班学生进入高中学习已经一个学期，经过一个学期的努力，已初步掌握了一定的篇章的阅读技能（如skimming, scanning），通过跳读、略读，能够较快地把握文章的大意和主要唉信息，但是通过上下文信息理解词汇和能力不足。另外，经过上学期的强化训练，多数学生已能根据音标拼读单词，有了一定的词汇拼读能力，但是自主拼读的自觉性不高，依赖心里重，需要教师布置合适的任务，引导他们进行有效的自主学习。因此，在课前，我布置了根据音标熟读单词的预习作业。

Teaching aims:

1. To have a good understanding of the history, development and significance of the Nobel Prize. 2. To understand the meaning the several key words through reading. (spread, honour, award, ceremony, anniversary, outstanding etc.) 3. To retell the award ceremony of the Nobel Prize by using the target vocabulary. Teaching focus: To have a good understanding of the Nobel Prize through reading and present the grand occasion with target vocabulary.。
