Part1. Analysis of the Teaching Material It is the last lesson of the fourth Unit. In this unit, the teaching material revolves the topic of Christmas. It tells the story of Li Ming in Canada with Jenny and his classmates. Since Christmas is one of the children’s favorite holidays, students are eager to learn about this important festival and therefore have a strong interest in learning. This lesson is a review class that is very colorful in Western cultural festivals. The main purpose of this lesson is to help students to learn about the traditional costoms of Christmas and to cultivate their cross-cultural awareness so that they can achieve the goal of language learning in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Part2. Analysis of the students The subject of this lesson is the students of Grade Six. It is known to us that the kids of this age are innocent, lively and have a strong desire for expression and curiosity.They have a certain English foundation and have the ability to collect information by themselves. They are full of curiosity and desire for Western culture. Before class, the children put up a new Christmas tree in the classroom and prepared Christmas gifts to create a deep Christmas atmosphere. In class, I used information technology and other means to try to provide them with a real language environment, so that they can fully reflect what they have learned in this context. Part3. Teaching

Aims 1. Knowledge aims （1）Students can listen, speak, read and write these words correctly: Santa, Christmas, light, gift, special. （2）Students can use the following sentence patterns to make simple questions and answers about Christmas activities.

What is Christmas? What would you like for Christmas? What do you want to buy? Who is Santa? …

2. Ability aims To improve students' listening,speaking,reading and writing abilities. The creative spirit is quite important for the students.So the topics during the class are easy but full of different communications. Much time will be given to students in my class.Listening and speaking abilities will be improved by reading and practicing the dialogue. 3. Emotion aims （1）To guide students to learn the topic of Christmas and to experience different festival cultures.To cultivate students' love for the western festivals and love of life. （2）Enable the students to like learning English and make them have successful feeling and achievement. 4. Cultural awareness aims

Students can understand the similarities and differences between Chinese and western festivals, increase students’

cross-cultural awareness, and cultivate their love of the motherland. 5. Learning strategy aims （1）Learn to use different tenses and patterns to express correctly in different contexts. （2）Students can read independently under the guidance of the teacher. They also can try to analyze the material information and actively absorb the important information in the text, so as to summarize the effective learning methods. （3）Help the students foster their abilities of working in groups. When they’re

in trouble, they can ask for help and cooperate with others. Part4. Important Points and Difficult Points 1. Important Points
