Teaching aims: (1)

Aims on the abilities: To develop Ss abilities of listening and speaking. To foster Ss abilities of communication. (3) Aims on the emotion:
Animals are our friend. We must do our best to protect them. 3

To help Ss to ask and answer the questions. (2)
To help Ss to make sentences with the sentence pattern. 4
Teaching procedures: Step1
Warming-up. (1)
Sing a song. T:Good morning, boys and girls. S:Good morning, Miss Li. T: Are you ready for our class? S: Yes. T: OK. First let’s sing a song: Is it a cat? [唱英文歌曲,为学生创设一个英语氛围,让学生轻松、愉快的进入学习状态。这首歌也复习了动物的单词,及一般疑问句Is it a …? 及答语Yes, it is. No, it isn’t. 为本课主题句做铺垫] (2)
Review the words of animals.
T:Well done. Can you hear some animals in the song?
S: Cat. (dog, pig) T: Great. Can you say some other animals?( show some animal pictures) S: Duck . (hen, panda, bear, fox, fish, bird,rabbit)
[头脑风暴,让学生说以前学过的动物单词,从而引出新知]
Step2
Presentation (1)
T write “ bear, rabbit” on the blackboard, then point to the picture and say “a bear, a rabbit”
(2)
Teacher show a picture and teach the word “elephant”.
T draw an elephant and write “elephant” on the blackboard. Then let Ss read.
Then teach
Ss
to read “an elephant”. (3)
Then use picture cards to teach “tiger, deer”. And say “a tiger, a deer.”
(4)
A game: Show these animals on the screen, let Ss guess “ What’s missing?”

Teach words: this, that. Teacher show the picture and say “This is an elephant.”用远处的图片对比演示
“that”. Then show card “this, that ”,lead Ss read and spell. (6)
Teacher show the picture, ask and answer by herself“Is this a
bear? Yes, it is.” Show the sentences on the blackboard. Ss listen and say. T use other pictures (a tiger, an elephant, a rabbit, a deer) to let Ss ask and answer. (6)Teacher point the picture and say“Is that a bear? ”Let Ss
answer“Yes, it is.” Then let Ss ask and answer “Is that a bear? No, it isn’t.”
Use other pictures(a tiger, an elephant, a rabbit, a deer) to let Ss ask
and answer. [鼓励学生从词到句子的练习,让学生学会在句子中学词,引导学生替换练习] Step3
Drill. (1)
Ss ask and answer .
Ss ask and answer with the sentence pattern.(Use the pictures and things)
(2) Let’s chant. “Is this a bear? Is this a bear? Yes, it is .Yes, it is. Is that a bear? Is that a bear? No , it isn’t. No , it isn’t.”

T hide a picture, let Ss guess “Is this…?”

Ask a student to be teacher, play this game. [在猜动物的过程中,让学生不仅联系了提问,也学会了如何回答,让学生在实际中与其他同学交流] (4)Open the book
Ss look and listen. Then repeat . Let Ss practice in pairs. Step 4
Practise (1)
T act a guide. Let Ss put on the headdress of animals. T ask“Let’s go to Wangcheng Zoo. Look! Is this a …?”Let Ss answer.
Then Ss use the things practice in groups and act. [设置去王城动物园参观的游戏可以让学生在真实的语境中操练本课句型,体现了语言的交际功能]
(2)Sing a song.
T sing: “Is this a bear? Is this a bear? Yes, it is . It’s a bear.
Is that a bear? Is that a bear? No , it isn’t. No , it isn’t.”(童谣“两只老虎”的音调)
Ss sing together. Step5
Consolidation (1)
Animals are our friends. I like animals. Do you like animals? So we must do our best to protect them.

It’s time to say good-bye. Thank you very much.
