Story time 一．教学内容

本节课是《译林版牛津小学英语》5A Unit 7 At weekends 第一课时story time。本节课的story是Mike和Su Hai围绕周末活动展开的一个对话，主要句型是What do you do at weekends? I always/usually/ often/ sometimes…以及一些活动类的短语。

二．教学目标

1. 能听懂、会读、会说: at weekends, grandparents, chat, Internet, go to the

cinema, visit, always, usually, often, sometimes

2. 能听懂、会读、会说句型:What do you do at weekends? I always/usually/ often/ sometimes…

3. 能初步理解和朗读课文。

4.

能初步运用本课所学的词汇和句型谈论周末活动。

sometimes…与他人进行初步的交流。

1、白板课件一个。

2、单词卡片若干。

3、人物头像。

4、学生练习纸。

六．教学过程

Step1. Warming

up 1、sing a song

“Days of the week”. T:We know there are seven days in a week.(播放课件) Look at the two days. They are... Ss: Saturday and Sunday. T: Yes, they are the end of the week .We can call them “weekend”(点课件)

Teach new word: weekend. T: Today, we have a very nice topic.“At weekends”(揭题) 【设计意图：通过对星期的词汇的回顾，引出本单元的课题At weekends】

Step 2. Presentation

Learn the new words

T：Do you like weekends,boys and girls?

Ss: Yes.

T: I like weekends very much because I can do many things I like. Guess what I do at weekwnds?

T: Do you like my weekends?

Ss: Yes.

T: Thank you .I always play with my cat at weekends.(播放课件).Do you know always? Read after me,please.(依次教授always、usually、often、sometimes)

Ss read the new words together.

T: I have a learning tip about the four words. Who can read it for us?

S6:.....(读课件上的内容)

T：Thank you. Are you clear?

Ss:Yes.

【设计意图：通过一首朗朗上口的chant 介绍了自己的周末活动，增加了教学的趣味性，使单调乏味的单词教学变得生动有趣，为后面的课文教学做好准备。

Work in pairs

T: Now, you know something about my weekends. I want to know what do you do at weekends.Work in pairs and talk about your weekends.

Ss talk about their weekends. Invite 3 pairs to show their dialogues.

【设计意图：通过两两合作，操练本节课的重点句型，为本节课的对话教学扫清障碍。】

Watch and choose

T: Good job. You can talk about your weekends now. Look! Who are they?(点课件)

Ss: Mike and Su Hai.

T: Yes. I have two questions about them. What are they chatting about? Let’s watch the cartoon and choose the right answers.

Ss watch the cartoon.

T: Have you got the answers?

【设计意图：通过看动画，回答问题的方式，引导学生理解对话的大意。】

Listen and circle

T: You are so clever. But What do they do at weekends?

This time, let’s listen to the tape and circle out their activities. Please take out your work sheet.

【设计意图：本节课是对话教学，所以结合听和圈的方式，指导学生找出文中人物的活动。】

Discuss in groups

T: Please share your answers in groups and try to read their activities. When you meet new words,you can guess the meanings from the pictures,or you can ask me for help. I’ll give you 1minute.

【设计意图：在学生听完后，并没有立即检查答案，而是通过小组讨论，指导学生在小组合作中找出答案，在过程中加强了对学生的学法指导。】

Check the answers T: OK. Time is up. What do they do at weekends? Who can tell me?

S7:... 依次教授文中出现的活动词组，将词组板贴在黑板上：

visit grandparents, chat on the Internet, go to the cinema... Ss learn to read. 【设计意图：在小组讨论后，再检查答案，正确率会有很大的提高，此时加强对词组朗读的教学，效果会比较好。】

Read and complete T: Well done! You have found out all their activities. But do you know what does Mike do at weekends? What do Su Hai and Su Yang do at weekends? What does Helen do at weekends? This time,please read the dialogue by yourselves and try to find out their activities.Then finish the exercises on page 70. Ss read the dialogue and finish the exercises. T: Have you finished? Let’s check the answers together. What does Mike do? Who can read Mike? S8: I usually play football... T: Good. Mike usually plays football... T：This is Mike’s weekends. What about Su Hai ,Su Yang and Helen?Can you read out their activities and finish the blackboard? Ss: Yes. T: OK. Work in pairs. One reads out the activities and the other finishes the blackboard design. Ss work in pairs. Then invite 2 pairs to finish the rest exercises. T: OK! You know their weekends now. What do they do at weekends? Let’s say together. Ss and T retell the dialogue together. 【设计意图：通过自读课文完成填空，让学生进一步理解文章中的细节内容。通过相互合作，完成对细节内容答案的检查和板书的完成，最后在老师的带领下一起复述文中的主要内容，效果比较好。】

Step3 Practice

Listen and repeat

T:OK! Let’s try to read this dialogue. When you read,you should pay attention to your pronunciation and intonation.

Ss read together.

Happy reading time

T:You can repeat well. So you can choose one way to read. You can read together. You can read in paragraphs.You can read in roles.

Ss practice reading. Then invite 2 groups to show their reading.

【设计意图：四人小组合作，选择喜欢的方式朗读课文，以此操练学生的朗读能力。】

Try to remember

T: You read so well. We know SH&SY usually visit their grandparents at weekends. Mike also chats with their grandparents on the Internet. I think they care about their grandparents very much. What about you? Do you care about your grandparents? Ss: Yes.

T: I think all of you should care about your grandparents. Because they are old. They always feel lonely. They need your care very much. When you have your weekends,remember to visit your grandparents. Can you do that? Ss:Yes. 【设计意图：通过教材中的人物对爷爷奶奶的关心为抓手，引导学生学会去关心自己的爷爷奶奶，深化情感教育。】

Let’s talk T: Let’s try to say something more about your weekends. What do you do at weekends? S9: I... T: What about your mother? What does your mother do at weekends? S9: She... T: Can you talk about your weekends as well as your family members’

weekends? You can use the following sentences.

Ss dicuss in pairs. Then Invite 2-3 pairs to talk about their weekends. T: You can talk about your weekends now! Good job! 【设计意图：通过此活动，使学生能初步运用所学的句型进行话题的讨论以及尽可能多的延续话论，提高学生的综合语言运用能力。】

Step4. Homework

1. Read and retell the dialogue. 2. Try to say more about weekends.
